Recently, there were media reports claiming that the new minimum wage signed by the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari does not apply to corp members currenly serving in the nation.

This was first published by an NYSC staff at Abuja who claimed that the President has not given a go-ahead for them to start paying corp members the proposed amount of N31,800, adding that they should dismiss all rumors regarding that.

On the NYSC Help Center official page, they released a Tweet writing that the new allowances for Serving Corp members following the increase in the minimum wage still stands. This was retweeted by the NYSC DG, S.Z Kazaure.

It will be good if they actualize it. So corpers can save.

I think corp members should be paid well so they can save for life after service since it's not like the government has a ready made job for them after serving.
The little savings made would go a long way to sustain them pending the time they are able to get a job or set up their own business.
