Benefits of reading the Bible regularly
Do you read the bible at all? In the so called modern life we find ourselves, which continues to pull man further away from his creator, billions of people who own the bible hardly read it in a month or year. Let alone daily or weekly.
Success in this life has being defined as how rich and famous you are. But from Gods standpoint, success is determined by the level of holiness and closeness we have with God.
According to John 17: 3, to gain everlasting life, we need to acquire the knowledge of God and of Jesus Christ. That knowledge must be put to good use after acquisition.
Cars, houses ad riches cannot give us everlasting life. Ironically, we live all these behind after years of toiling to acquire them, when we die.
According to Romans 6:23, the wages sin pays is death. But the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus, our Lord.
Sin is prevalent today, because people have stopped listening to God. Mankind have stopped consulting the word of God for spiritual guidance in their daily lives.
When people are in trouble, they run to:
1.their pastor
2.imam
3.native doctors
4.their friends
5.their parents
6.their wives
7.counsellors of all types
Often, these people proffer advice and solution that look good but may always Bethe best solution. It is this reason why private businesses of churches, imams and shrines are full with humans desperate for solution.
Only a few of earth billions truly turn to God for direction in life in trouble times. And it is only a few that reads their bible and stick to its advice during trouble times.
Many claim to be Christians, but visit shrines for quick success. They claim to be holy but commit heinous crimes behind the cover of darkness. They claim to be righteous but commit fornication, adultery, murder, tell gossip, tell lies, use charms, join cults and do all sorts of evil.
But someone who really loves God, will not put his hand in evil. Because he reads the bible regularly, he is guided by its advice for our daily living.

Read the bible daily, if you want to be :
1.a decent person
2.a loving person
3. a forgiving individual
4. a considerate person
5. A wise person
6.a humble person
7.an honest person
8.a happy person
9.a reasonable individual
10. A holy person etc
The satanic crowds of humans on earth today, do not like the above qualities. It is the opposite of these qualities they love to display and even glamourise.
When you read the bible regularly, it influences your thoughts, speech and actions. It trains your conscience to be agreeable to God's thinking. The more you can read and apply the bible advice in your daily life, the closer you will feel to God. James 4:8 states in part-
Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you, cleans your hands you sinners and purify your hearts you indecisive ones.
We do not want to wait to the day of judgment before we start reading the Bible. Unfortunately, billions of people are by their daily conduct, showing exactly that. They are slow walking into eternal death by not reading the bible, listening to its instructions and heeding it advice in their lives. They think that they can repent overnight once God brings judgment on mankind.
Galatian s 5:6 says
Do not be misled, God is not one to be For whatever a person is sowing, this he will also reap.mocked.
If we fail to heed the bible counsel to live as righteous persons now, on Gods day of judgment, we cannot escape judgement, because we are like criminals before God, deserving only of punishment.
To make us Gods friends, we need to apply the bible advice in our lives.
We cannot apply the bible advice if we do not read it daily or regularly.
So, let's us read the bible regularly and strive to obey its counsel. If we do, it will draw us closer to God, make us his friends, protect u from evil people and also open the way for salvation on the day God destroys all the wicked from this earth.
So, my question do you read your bible at all?
Well, your life and those of billions of others depends on whether we read and apply it in our lives. Interestingly, only the bible tells mankind, what each of our future will be.

Ordinarily, the faculty of conscience ! We all have conscience: that inner sense of right and wrong. God put it in all of us, but may choose to ignore it.

But not all people always got those benefits because, many failed to listen to their conscience, the word of God had not gone round and many were practicing different forms of religions in different customs. The isrealites worshipped the true God.Even before Bible, God communicated with them. They followed their conscience to please God. Take note,they fail to live up to expectations sometimes.

But for such ones, who did not know about God, their acts of ignorance will be forgiven and be given a second opportunity.

For those who knew the bible and about Christ, they are held more ccountable for their actions, which is not ignorance. Such ones would get the greatest good by reading the bible, since they have it.
Romans 2:11-15 reads-

11 For there is no partiality with God. 12 For all those who sinned without law will also perish without law; but all those who sinned under law will be judged by law. 13 For the hearers of law are not the ones righteous before God, but the doers of law will be declared righteous. 14 For when people of the nations, who do not have law, do by nature the things of the law, these people, although not having law, are a law to themselves. 15 They are the very ones who demonstrate the matter of the law to be written in their hearts, while their conscience is bearing witness with them, and by their own thoughts they are being accused or even excused.

From the above verse, especially verse 15, our conscience has been given to aid us. The existence of conscience even before the Bible was written, is what makes all nations to have almost the same response to crime. Stealing, murder, lying, fornication etc, were readily frowned at and punished in many societies and even now. Why, because Gods sense of right and wrong have been programmed in all of us.

The only problem is, humans do not listen to their conscience. They always do what they want to do, to please themselves and ignore God!
