FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP/GRANT BE PAID His Excellency, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President M Buhari. His Excellency, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu All protocols are duly well extended. We the Nigerian students/scholars would like to commend the Federal government and the ministry of education for their efforts so far towards improving the standard of education in Nigeria and also the welfare of the students, but our heart still remains in a state of unrest as our tuition fees and living expenses as students are left hanging/not catered for. It has been over two months now since the student beneficiaries of Federal Government Scholarship completed their verification for the continuation of their scholarship benefits, however no disbursement of funds have been made so far with respect to the Federal Government Scholarship awards for undergraduates and post graduate students. It is worthy of note that the last time we were paid was in 2017. We have always believed in this administration so we beg and plead that you should not let us down. We beseech on the authority to please take prompt action to ensure that the funds are disbursed to the concerned students as this delay poses significant threat to the academic stability and wellbeing of the students/scholars. It is quite ludicrous that the federal government has refused to pay funds meant for its scholars. I mean these folks are the generational hope of this country. They would definitely need this money to pursue their educational dreams. It wont make sense if we let our youths go into crime just to meet up various kinds of payment needed for their education. Fed Gov please save the Nigerian students and dont let this country break. These ones are not yahoo guys, they have been committed to work hard and i think their efforts should be rewarded. Pls o...push to front page. I don dey expect this money since last year.They have released the money since o.....but to pay is now the problem. It seems they fixed the money or someone is trying to embezzle it. My 180 k no be money wey De go fit chop. I passed through hell before I could secure the scholarship....infact, I wrote my scholarship test around 7pm in the evening with torch light. The kind headache wey I get that day I no think have ever had that kind of headache before......so pay us our money. Nigeria is nation where nothing works, and the problem is down to the bottom. I believe FG actually disbursed the funds months ago after the long delay owing of course to their negligence and greed, and now what excuse has the scholarship board gotten for another round of delay from its own end if not for same reason as their superiors, negligence and greed! It's so sad we're still on this issue even after FSB hurriedly carried out verification before the 2019 General Elections. Now it all seems a ploy designed to get the votes of these teeming scholars. A government that is sincere and has integrity would honor their commitment. FG should do the right thing and alleviate the sufferings of these scholars - their ordeal have lasted for far too long. 7 Likes 1 Share |
