Those who have been using the Android OS for long would appreciate Google's introduction of app permission control on Android 6.0 and above.

Gone are the days when you would click install on Play Store and many permissions would pop up, and you would have no other choice than to agree. Now, whether an app is installed from Play Store or through other means, permissions can be granted and revoked easily.

This is particularly useful when you notice that an app is doing what you don't want, hence your privacy can be well protected. For instance, if an app uses your device's microphone without your knowledge, all you need to do is to deactivate microphone permission. Your failure to do this would enable the app to secretly record your conversations and use it for the interest of its developer(s).

For illustration sake only, I will use Opera browser on my Spark 3 for this tutorial. Just take the following steps:

(1) Go to Settings
(2) Scroll down and click on Apps and notifications
(3) Select the app you want to manage its permissions (e.g. Opera in this case)
(4) Open Permissions and toggle on/off in front of each item as you wish. As shown, I deactivated microphone permission which was on by default.
