Comrade Benson Efeotor, a civil servant working with the Delta State Ministry of Finance (Project E-Delta), has returned the sum of N53,121,650, recently erroneously paid into his account by the state government.

In an interview with newsmen, Efeotor said, “I returned the money because I don’t have such money in my bank account.” He added that anyone who will say he was wrong for returning the money to the government is a “thief.”

However, on May Day, he was rewarded with a brand new car, courtesy of the Delta State government.

53M Naira can get over 30 of that car.

Just saying though.

It’s government money, we are the government. It’s our money.

In this case, I'll wholeheartedly choose to be a thief.

He's a lucky it's a PDP govt, that's why he got some sort of reward for his honesty. If it were an APC state or fed govt, they will lock up the guy for their own mistake or tell the world how they have rewarded the man but holding the reward for him so.that he won't faint

Hmmm...

And they ended up giving him a liability, instead of an asset. Why not give him a house, or better still a more sustainable appointment
