My neighbor said that buying a Ford Edge is not a good thing cos they are quite expensive to maintain. Pls how true is this? He said the shafts alone cost about 150-180k! 2 Likes |

Djdannyb4u: Your neighbor obviously doesn't know what he's talking about. He's just the regular Nigerian bandwagon follower, too lazy or scared to try and do something different. How did I know? Check the bolded. Ford Edge shaft 08-014 models is not more than 30-40k for the front pair. That said, I wouldn't believe any other thing that comes out of his mouth cos he's just displayed his gross ignorance with that claim. 12 Likes |

radautoworks: How many Nigerians buy OEM or new shaft, that's less than 1% His neighbour's weren't quoting the price of new OEM. If you go by that new OEM prices anyways then shaft being 150k will not be an issue because it will be almost same prices across most popular brands. When naija people say "parts are cheap", "Shocks is 30k", "filter is 2k", they're never talking about new OEM 18 Likes |

Djdannyb4u: Nigerians and Hearsay are 5 and 6. If you are interested in a vehicle, take your time to research extensively on it. Don't rely on what your neighbor or colleague says. Back to the subject, Ford Edge is a very good and reliable SUV but most people abuse the ride or buy an already abused one hence their painful experience and lamentations. If you do regular maintenance and maintain the vehicle well, you wouldn't have a cause to change parts for a very long time, but if and when you need to, be rest assured you're getting a quality part (which will last you for another longer duration) since its parts doesn't have 3rd-5th grades or Chinese rip-offs like most other vehicles, even though it might be a little more expensive than the Japanese counterparts. 6 Likes |
