America and UK are leading in next technologies( AI,quantum computing,machine learning,AR etc),china is left behind

Maybe they still have an edge in the software aspect, but even they acknowledge that their infrastructures are far behind China's. And even in the areas you listed the West leading them, do your research and you will see that they are catching up and are bound to overtake the West in no time. I feel you and China industrialization is so amusing but the two decades is over exaggeration.Two decades ago was 1999, they were already building ridiculous dams, bridges and large factories by Then. The Chinese people starved around mid 1950s to 1960s when Mao Zedong introduced some strange policies.
