Nigerian are always ignorance of tech, electric stations will be built just like petrol station where motorist drive in to recharge their car or better still all fuel stations will add electric charging to their service. it is easy just the way we have diesel, kerosine and gas sessions in a petrol stations. |

Pavore9: So is apparently much of the rest of the world... US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was just gleefully touting the other day that melting polar caps would make it easier to drill for oil in the Artic, while Russia has started to build permanent military bases in the Artic region to secure what would be contested hydrocarbon resources. It's great to simultaneously pursue/develop cleaner energy sources and technology, but the reasonably-certain likelihood is that the global economy will still be heavily hydrocarbon-driven for most (if not the rest) of the natural lives of most (if not all) Nairalanders. 1 Like |

In other news, the Nigeria Parliament just threw out an electric car bill sponsored by Sen Ben Bruce saying Nigeria is not yet ripe for electric cars, meanwhile the minister for industry has assured that the 2019 deadline for production of pencil is still feasible 2 Likes |

djsa: Would rather have such charging stations around each neighborhood so that people can go charge some of their household appliances, since we cannot even supply simple basic reliable electricity to the teeming masses of Nigerians who are in no 'danger' of affording electric cars. 1 Like |

I love those small small countries of Norway Finland Sweden & Denmark to my marrow & not Nigeria dat out of 200 million, more dan 195, million of d population don't see beyond d now & d future. everything is about me & my family consumption & selfishness. the GREED never gets filled. leadership is dead & d people are reflection of their leaders. d different between oyinbo & Nigerians here is dat d formal (whites) get educated be it formal & informal & use it for d betterment of d society while d latter Nigerians the more educated they become d more gullible, tribally wired, & morally lacking. 3 Likes |

With the way technology is going it might ends up in years to come oil might not be as useful as it is today I guess oil producing countries should be preparing for a bigger falls in the nearest future. |

nurey:Be gone to heaven or Europe, If other Countries stopped buying naija's crude oil.It would definitely force our government to divert the economy into other sectors such as mining, agriculture and other sectors. During the era of regional government, Chief Obafemi Awolowo who was the Western Region Prime singlehandedly built the great O.A.U and U.I by agricultural proceeds of cocoa, rubber and cashew. Looking at the master architectural piece of those great schools, you would keep wondering how much was eventually spent on those magnificent structures. He also established Odua Investment Company which has subsidiaries in Hotels and Housing estates. This man was generating huge internal revenue's for the entire Southwest region and it was only through agriculture. I was hugely surprised about other Senators supporting Ekweremadu about the importation of electric cars. The only reason they did that was that they are so myopic and can not see into the coming future. Moreover, they knew the drop in crude oil proceeds from exportation would force the government to cut the salaries and the emoluments of the Legislatures. But no matter how long it takes, the word 'change' is the only constant factor on the earth and sooner or later,it would force Nigerian to adopt what the whole World are into. In the passing of bill video by Sen.Ben Bruce,he said "i had been using an electrically powered vehicle for the past 5years,which I duly charge in my house and it has not been repaired for the past 5yrs. Apart from the atmosphere friendliness of all electrically powered vehicles of it stopping carbon dioxide emission. It is maintenance friendly. It adoption would force the F.G to improve power supply and there would be an overall improvement in the Small and Medium Scale Enterprises by sustainable power supply. A change is coming, all Nigerian should brace up. 2 Likes |
