9jaRealist: You seem to have an idea and are mostly right But virtually ALL the other banks operated in the same way. Especially bank of the North which was used by northern govs as a drain for people's deposits. But Sanusi knew them no born am to touch it or it's his job Why was the nearly $1bn recovered from her not put back into the shareholders funds as should have been in other climes? Plus are you aware that a publication came out months before that he had meet with some people and were planning to reduce the influence of southern bank CEOs because they were becoming as powerful enough to influence who becomes president? 3 Likes |

dominique: No mind am, so many fraud in Oceanic bank then. Na now she wan talk. Sanusi saved a lot of Nigerians. Usually in this recession that happened when Buhari came in, so banks would have shut down and we would lose our money. Also so many employees would have been fired, now its better because atleast bankers know their jobs are safe because the Banks are stronger after Merging. 1 Like |

No Madam, it is because you converted depositors 's funds to personal use by giving yourself and family loans that you then declare as bad loans. Let's no forget the issues... Madam, you are a thief and have destroyed many lives by depriving them of their life savings. You now can talk because he seems to in trouble but he is still emir and he was right about your crimes. the whole thing is politically motivated,I sense maybe sanusi wanted to /felt jealous about her popularity that's why. or maybe he wanted to test from her forbidden fruit too and she refused that where her ordeal started from we never can tell, This is Nigeria |

There were other banks guilty of the offenses cecilia was guilty of. Till date they remain untouched. Its not the law catching up with offenders some of us care about, its the selective treatment. If you won't arrest all offenders for their sins, then don't arrest any at all. 1 Like |

royalguy123: Very idiotic reasoning. Her bank was not the strongest, most capitalised or with the most customers in the industry. Her popularity was built on media hype. Was she more powerful than the CBN governor? After the President, there are very few appointees as powerful as the CBN governor, President of the Supreme court, Chairman Joint Chief of Staff of the entire army. |

airsaylongcon: Such beer-parlor rumors may perhaps have a grain of veracity if Oceanic Bank was the ONLY bank that was recapitalized, and its CEO and board removed and replaced. And let's not forget the little FACT that Aunty Ibru actually pleaded GUILTY to the charges against her. > |

All if you saying she bought this and that and had properties all over the place should remember that her late husband was a one time richest man in Africa. Saint sanusi punished her for offence known to him. There were other CEO who committed the same offence as she did but they were untouched. This is a war against Nigeria women. 1 Like |

Yankee101: When the UK government sold shares of the Royal Bank of Scotland that it was compelled to nationalize during the Financial Crises or when the US government brought General Motors back to the market post-Financial Crises through a public offering, did the UK and Us governments simply turn around and hand the funds realized from such public offerings back to the same shareholders who ran the businesses aground? > |

9jaRealist: Brilliant responses sir. Sadly, most of us here(Nigerians) would rather argue with sentiments against your points than put forward counter facts to disprove what you've pointed out. On a lighter note you should consider starting up a finance/economics blog that talks about — in lay terms — economic/financial issues in the country that would appeal to the laity, drive financial literacy, financial inclusion AND quite frankly, make you money too. 2 Likes |
