Northern Nigeria? Not of Nigeria. So we can also have Southern Nigerian Petroleum Cooperation (SNPC) and not Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation. We are not one in this country.

Note that it's a private company bro.

Founded and formerly owned by a consortium of Northern states, but acquired by Abdulsamad Rabiu and his BUA Group.

So a Southerner can acquire Ibile Oil from LASG and name it SNPC like you have suggested.

Most important thing is for Nigeria's economy to win from whatever we do.

I didn't see growth. The company experienced sporadic cash flow.
However, the company's Earnings Per Share (EPS) declined by 58 Kobo per share. The company's Earnings Per Share declined from 86 Kobo to 28 Kobo. Year-on-Year CCNN EPS was down by 67.4%.

The selling and distribution expenses soared from N245.87 million to N1 billion. Whilst its administrative expenses increased from N597.65 million to N1.29 billion.

That's not a good marginal profit considering the operational and administrative cost.

You're right, but remember that this is CCNN's first operating result post-merger.

So some of the synergies promised by the merger will surely not have come into play yet.

we igbos do have our own cooperations especially in the banking industry. so the north can have theirs in cement industry but I don't see the future growth of their cement industry because northerners largely live in mud houses. Igbos won't patronize them as they already have ibeto cement whom they share there emotions with.

And you buy Samsung made by Chinese you don't even know ..

Looks impressive.
Since it's northern owned, they wont kill it for Dangote.

It was already “dead” like Nkalagu and BCC Gboko before Obasanjo’s privatization and its sale to BUA Group...
BUA Group resurrected and modernize it, just as Dangote did with BCC Gboko, while Ibeto was still fighting his kinsmen over Nkalagu.

In fact, you can add Calabar Cement Company, which was sold to Flour Mills/Holcim, who resurrected/upgraded it...
As well as Edo Cement Company in Odu-Okpella that was privatized/sold to BUA Group that upgraded/quadrupled its capacity.

Actually, it was set up by Ahmadu Bello’s Northern Nigeria regional government in partnership with the German cement giant Heidelberg.

Back in those (even before our fathers’ generation), each region set up an investment holding company to incorporate/invest in subsidiary operating companies - Western Nigeria Development Company (WNDC, later IICC and currently Odua Investment) for the Western Region (Wema Bank, National Bank, Wemabod, WAPCo, Airport Hotel, etc), Eastern Nigeria Development Company (ACB, Golden Guinea, Nigercem Nkalagu, Aba Textiles, etc.), and Northern Nigeria Development Company (CCNN, Bank of the North, Arewa Textiles, etc.).

Also, it NOT a private company...
Rather, it’s a publicly-listed and traded company on the NSE (that is now majority-owned by the BUA Group).

It was set up in the 1960s (well before any of us here were likely born cheesy) by the regional government of Northern Nigeria, at about the same time the Western and Eastern regional governments set up WAPCO and Nigercem, respectively, and hence the name. It is however a publicly-listed and publicly-traded company on the Nigeria Stock Exchange, so any Nigerian (or even foreigner) can buy equity and become part-owner.
