Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, released the results of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations, UTME, a 15-year-old boy from Abia State emerged the best candidate by scoring 347 marks considered as the highest by board.

Similar, a 16-year-old boy from Abia State came second by scoring 346 marks just as a 17 year old from Osun State trailed behind with 345, considered by the board as the third best result in the 2019 UTME.

But the Registrar of JAMB, Prof Ishaq Oloyode, who announced this at a media briefing, Saturday, however, said the best candidate may not be admitted in the University of Lagos,which he chose as his first choice because of age.

He gave the names of the three best candidates as Ekene Franklin: Igban Emmanuel Chidiebube and Oluwo Isaac Olamilekan
Oloyode did not disclose the intended courses of the best performing students.

Please my sister just saw her jamb result and she scored 196, she wanted to study accounting in one of the federal university in Nigeria. But with that score I am not sure she might see any school to enter. Please I will appreciate it if you can give me list of private universities that accept less than 200 for accounting and the amount they pay per year for school fees.
By amount I mean the total amount payable, that is school fees, feeding, accommodation and dues.
I will be glad if anyone can help with this info.

Harder by what metric? It is a knowledge-based exam with recommended textbooks for each subjects. Questions for each subject do not bypass the listed books. Your chemistry is your new school chem, comprehensive. Your biology is your essential biology, modern biology. Your physics is your new school physics, essential physics, comprehensive physics, P.N. Okeke. Your math is your further math by Odili, new general, additional math by Godman.
These questions are drawn from these books, and anyone with an understanding of the topics should be able to understand those shallow questions.
These books combined do not have up to 20000 pages and know many geniuses the US who would clear such materials in matter of hours or at worse, days.
347 means dude failed at least 26 questions out of 250. Not impressed.

U.s university admissions require less effort, SAT is d main exam . Ppl here clear it in a weekend,jamb on the other hand requires studying an entire senior secondary school curriculum in 4 subjects! Huge undertaking. Jamb tests deep knowledge of subject matter, SAT tests reasoning ability. Both are vastly different in complexity. To hit even 250 is great! The differential means nothing. At one time,1995 , the highest nationwide was around 277. Of all the thousands of brains imagine. It used to b around the 200s until much later,ppl strted crossing 300. The highest scorer in one year,studied for an entire year to ace it! Jamb was hard! I dont know of now. Infct it was customary for ppl to take it twice bf they passed.

it's very difficult because wen prepping,you strt from scratch, scrape every nuance memorize every merit nd demerit, and formulas. You'd forgotten all those as d years went by (if you were even taught). Jamb curriculum is a monster. Terribly vast and comprehensive. To see some1 tear past 240 means they read intensely nd memorized vastly to prepare for any odd ball the exam would throw at them. SAT LSAT dont test like this. Jamb is barbaric. Anyway,scoring 400 doesnt mean you are a genius,it just meant you are good at test taking. Geniuses are known for their works nd thought processes not test scores. Read up john von neumann, einstein and his theory of relativity and special relativity, john nash - you dont see talk of test scores. It's d depth of their insight that got their deserved respect and fame
