How would they have expected Brighton to win such an important match against City, the only club who could have done them favour but disappointed them the most is Manchester United home game against City.

Am not denying the fact that they did exceptionally well to be in that position, except you dont want to acknoledge the fact that those mentioned teams are having some kind of internal issues like...Mourinho factor, players not wanting to play for him and had to change coach in the middle of a season. Samething applies to Arsenal and Chelsea as well, they had to bring in another coach who has to study the English football playing pattern. These are not sentiments, they are facts which can never be overlooked. When Liverpool were having issues with changing coaches, they experienced the same. They missed UCL for almost 5 seasons if am right.

it's a derby and you know bragging rights was at stake. Derbies doesn't always favour the favourite,it's a match that can go either side irrespective of the teams current form.
Manchester united were in their dying state but a draw was the least expected result and Liverpool knew right then that they league is out of their reach after the defeat. Leicester was never where the banked their hope, but it turned out that they were they ones who nearly gave them the opportunity.

...give kudos to someone that did well...there is always an excuse or reason for not doing well. What I know is that Liverpool seems to be the only team that will challenge City again next season...Utd coach says they can't challenge for the league , it will take a long time....Chelsea has a transfer ban and there best player might leave with manager uncertainty, they won't be able to challenge city next season....Arsenal doesn't look strong enough and the owners hate investing much....Tottenham, depends on there recruitment and pochettino says he might leave ... With all these I think its only Liverpool that will be capable of putting pressure on city to make the league competitive
