Young persons are indispensable ingredients of our today's democracy as they represent at least two thirds of the Country's voter. The voices of the youth are the mandate political office holders enjoy at all levels of government. Days are gone when young people are only recruited during election to instigate violence and terrorise those opposing their pay masters. Youth are now the engine and again drivers of our inclusive democracy/governance as they determine the tune and dimensions of the leadership space.

Concerned Lagos island youth is a nongovernmental, nonprofit and nonpolitical supporting Youth organisation which had deem it fit to take ownership of their own development by increasing, strengthening and raising their voices and actions by agitating what is best for them. vis-a-vis social progress ,governance process, building peace , driving accountability amongst their leaders and taking part in the decision-making processes that affect our lives.
CLIY in the longrun is committed to play critical role in development of lagos, by solving deep problems through a special breed of change *Mantra.*
OUR ACHIEVEMENT SO FAR;
Concerned Lagos Island youths Under the Leadership of *HON. LAYENI HAKEEM* committee on Power and Environment have deem it fit to never rest on our oars to watch incessant activities happening in our environs. The committee members have work tirelessly to mobilise and solicit support of which was a success in Lighting up one of the longest street on the island (BAMGBOSE BY OSHO STREET TO GLOVER STREET) to underpin Governor Akinwunmi Ambode agenda to*Light up* Lagos. Like our slogan implies, We Are Treading the Path for development and this is a reawakening in service to humanity and Nation building.
CLIY after gaining momentum on the *LIGHTUP* Project also initiated *CLEANUP ISLAND*
The objective of cleaning is not just to clean, but to feel happiness living within that environment.    
The aforementioned youths have also taken it as a task to give back to community by showing enormous passion, youthfulness and great leadership readiness as they kicks start quarterly #CleanUpIsland which they cleared and cleanup Sandgrouse market, beckroft street, Osho street, Cowlane street, Rasak okoya Street hospital road, Oshodi street, glover street and bamgbose street as usual. Beyond the fact that we are cleaning up, clearing waste and lightingup our streets. 'CLIY' is also ensuring that we have a safety environment and disease free environment by sanitizing people on proper way to dispose their waste to avoid blockage of drainage system and the waste when ejected in a proper way can be easily recycled and re-engineered. Also resold so that we can create wealth and a new business for Lagosians and also to attain the status of the Smartcity we are graving for.
