There will be the usual comment about how them politicians go abroad, leaving us with bad hospitals at home.

Well, it costs $50000 to have a knee replacement surgery (if that is what she means by knee surgery) in the USA and $20000-$50000 for cruciate ligament surgery

So, while we crticise her for going abroad....if we want our hospitals to be like the USA....we have to pay USA fees, not Nigerians fees.

Keep that in mind. Nothing good comes for free.

P.S...There are good orthopedic centers in Nigeria by the way
medical fees in the USA is over bloated. Why don't you use UK and Germany for example.

And if you move downward to Asia continent like India, medical fees is increadibly cheap yet with stamdard health care. Sometimes bigger fees does not determine quality. Germany and Uk health-care systems have prove USA wrong.

We will pay as long as our minimum wage is the same as that of the USA, sir.

U do not expect us to pay USA hospital fee when we do not earn like the Americans..

And above all, there are massive schemes for the Americans that help those who can't afford expensive health care.
Absolutely! for some Ignorant reason that obscene individual didn't mention All the above. cheers! for educating him.

I can bet 90% of her supporters are struggling to buy a 100 naira malaria drug from a chemist shop.

They always jump and hail her like a demi god. When she is sick, she goes USA. Same story for all Nigerian politicians. If you are one of those that argue and kill yourself for them, you are a certified F.O.O.L.

We are a poor country. The corruption of leaders past and present makes it worse.

I repeat, you cannot have US level of healthcare at Nigerian price

Orthopedic surgeons earn about $350k +( #126M) in the USA. In Nigeria #10M per annum is on the very high side. Even janitors in USA hospital earn more than Nigeria Doctors.
Moreover there are a lot of other aspects of the treatment that won’t be available to the patient in Nigeria. Physical therapy, pain management, nutrition, and rehabilitation is also included in the intervention.

Because people complain about how bad things are in Nigeria healthcare, then praise First World healthcare without realizing how much money goes into making those first world systems work.

As a Nigerian, I want what is best for our country and I want an end to the lies and corruption, but we also have to be realistic.

Now, i understand, they want the best healthcare but not willing to pay for the best healthcare or Contribute in Changing the Nigerian corrupt system to provide the best healthcare.

Oga, what actually are u insinuating. Ur line of reasoning is totally illogical. So because the cost of that surgery is higher than what we pay here, then we should continue to run substandard medical institutions in this country. I don't think u are serious.
Ur brain tell u that cos it cost about $50,000 to do the surgery and if we have that same standard there we will be paying N18,000,000 to do it here. Ur brain also told u dat running a very high standard of medical outfits here will also mean improved economy. If our economy improves in all facets, then u think affording medical bills will be that difficult. If Americans can pay their bills, what makes u think we can't if we have good hospitals and good economy.

U also refused to tell us, outside that $50,000 cost of the surgery, other expenses incurred by Nigerians going overseas for treatment. Did u forget the flight tickets, cost of feeding and accommodation etc. When u add all these you will see that it will still be far cheaper handling it here if they can improve our economy.

Finally, oga, stop defending our politicians. Don't don't and will never have ur welfare at heart once they are there.

If we want to be a rich country, we must get off oil and become industrial
