If PMB pulls this off it will be his standing legacy. True the various State Houses of Assembly are supposed to vote for or against LGA Autonomy but just like the National Assembly; they don't have the interest of their constituents at heart. Most banks have given huge loans to 99% of Nigerian governors and these governors mortgaged local government allocation to these banks.

Governors are in trouble because there is no way they can pay these bank loans without local government allocation.

If they succeed in usurping state powers who knows what else they will be trying to do. If Buhari support their move on this then it would mean their published function is a smokescreen and they were truly created to expand FG's control and bring grassroot directly under control of the center.

Id rather have LG remain under a thieving Governor and accessible at grassroot ownership than have it given autonomy and become dependent and accountable under a FG intent on using LG land for grazing routes. Look far beyond your nose and imagine the possibilities of LG becoming another statutory territory under a centralized federation.
