Students transferring from other universities to the Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri must come from citadels recognized by the administrative body of the Imo State University, Owerri.



Students transferring from other universities to the Imo State University, Owerri must be aware that he or she shall spend a minimum of two (2) academic sessions before graduation.





Students who are seeking transfers into IMSU must know he or she must meet the minimum university entry requirements as well as the special entry requirements of the department which the student wish to transfer to.



To be considered eligible for transfer into IMSU, you as a student must have achieved a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.00 on a five point scale.



Also, in determine the final average for graduation of transfer of students,account shall be taken of the courses offered at both Imo State University and the student's former university.



Below is the steps to make your transfer requests;



Students wishing to transfer to Imo State University, (IMSU), Owerri must complete the application form for transfer obtainable from the Registry or the Admission office of the Imo State University on payment to the Bursar of the sum of N50,000 (fifty thousand naira only). While, Students seeking transfers from outside Nigeria must pay the total sum of N100,000 (One hundred thousand naira only) for the application form.





The recommendations from Faculties or Colleges with respect to inter-Universty transfer shall be submitted to the office of the Registrar for the collation and presentation to the Committee of Deans.



The Registrar shall inform candidates of the results of their transfer application.



Normally,the number of students offered admission by transfer shall not exceed 10% of the department's admission quota in every academic calendar.





A transferred student shall normally register for and be examined in all 100 and 200 levels compulsory courses which he/she did not take part in or pass in his or her former University.
