How Blogging Can Turn You Into A Better Academic Writer by white321: 11:10am On May 23, 2019
Introduction

A blog is known as a platform for individuals available for their discussion and for information. A blog is the main mode of communication between an individual and the public. Teachers in universities and college encourage their students to go for blogging since its now part of the academic writing landscape. Blogging is not actually academic writing but it does support other forms of it. Blogging about your research and things you know can turn you into a better academic writer in the following ways

Establish a Routine

The first and foremost action that blogging does to make us into a better academic writer is that it establishes a kind of routine. Writing becomes a habit for them. People say to be better at academic writing you have to have a writing routine and blogging helps in providing you with that routine because as a blogger, you have to come up with a new content every day and you have to write every day for your audience.

Discover your Voice

One basic thing every writer should have is their own voice. When you are writing for your term papers or examinations, it’s difficult to find your own voice because you are following what you institute tells you to follow. Blogging helps you with this problem and helps you find your voice as a writer because academic writers generally write more informally on their blog. A blog is a trial and error platform for them where they can try many different ways and forms just to find their own voice and what suits them better. Blogging enables academic writers to take up a more informal and calm writing style so that they can express themselves freely.

To the Point

When you are blogging, you have to make sure that your content is not long and it’s to the point so that the readers don’t get bored. A blog is basically a small text which only talks about one idea. An ideal academic writer makes only one relevant point in his work and tries to talk about it only but it’s extremely difficult to talk about just one thing and not add other ideas and opinions. Blogging supports you and helps you with sticking to the point in your academic writing.

Relatable Content

The whole purpose behind blogging is to keep your audience engaged in the kind of content you write because it’s easy to disregard your blog with just one click nowadays. When you start writing something for your blog, you decide the topic and figure out the kind of audience you want to attract with each blog post you write. Blogging helps you as an academic writer to figure out how to attract different readers and how to relate to them.

Being Concise

Blogging is a short text where you have to get your point across in a few words. This can relatively be very difficult but one who masters this skill can also master the art of academic writing. Blogging is all about being concise and learning these skills can be a helpful practice in a range of scholarly pursuits.

Boosts Confidence

By looking at all the things required to write a blog, writing will seem easier. You will think about what to write but you will be less worried about it because blogging helps you to recognize writing as an art. To be good at any art, practice is necessary and blogging provides you with the perfect platform to practice your skills. When you have a different audience for your blog posts, you will get used to seeing your work and you will become more comfortable with your writing being out there. Blogging basically makes you confident about your writing skills.

Forms of Writing

In academic writing, you come across many things to write on such as reports, affordable essay writing, reviews, articles or research papers etc. and each has a different style of writing. You might not have to write all but as an academic writer, you should have the know-how about them. You do always have the freedom to write all of this on your blog so that you can experiment with different forms of writing.
Additionally, you also get to relate your writing content with visual content on your blog and this will help you to become a notable academic writer because you will have the technical know-how of how to support your ideas with different maps, videos or visual content.

CONCLUSION

Right now, the most prominent trend going on is starting your own blog because people tend to find their voice through blogging and they let other people know about their ideas but as much as blogging sounds fun, it also helps you to develop many other skills that will later help you to become an exceptional academic writer.
