5bedroom duplex with indoor swimming pool @Abijo
we made use of pile foundation +raft , total cost amounted to N8m total.
Without the pile, Raft foundation only total cost was estimated at N4 -5m.
Reason for using pile aside from being waterlogged is , the soil has poor load bearing capacity and contains peat.
From our observation, some structures in the same estate were either sinking or tilting.

At some point in the project, I had to bring my dad to site.Dad is an 80year old man with over 55years experience in building. (he doubles as our quality assurance engineer)currently lectures at Lagos state polytechnic (department of building).Would have brought my aunt his sister, she is a 65years old civil engineer.But my aunts fees,too high.(I can't afford her)
Funny thing is two of the engineers in that estate handling similar projecd for different clients turned out to be my dads ex student.
So i brought my dad in to see if our building had issues so we could fix.Because even the estate development company office in the estate was also sinking.Some other buildings too were tilting.Even the buildings behind us too were tilting.
The client too had doubts.

pops didnt see any structural issues.
But had issues with our doors, he prefers timber doors to metal. 1 Like 1 Share
