The National Broadcasting Commission has said the proposed Fulani radio station will broadcast “purely educational,” programmes designed to cater for the interest of itinerant fishermen, herders, hunters and farmers.

It also called on all broadcasting stations to exercise restraint in the treatment of sensitive issues that could threaten the unity and stability of Nigeria.

The commission, in response to criticism of the planned radio station by Federal Government to reach Fulani herdsmen, urged broadcasting stations to be professional and take guidance from the Nigeria Broadcasting Code, at all times.

The NBC, in a statement on Saturday, reminded all broadcasters to be mindful of their social responsibility to promote the well-being and peaceful co-existence of the various groups in Nigeria in keeping with the objectives of broadcasting in Nigeria.

It stated, “The commission is reacting to the media controversy over the license granted to the National Commission for Nomadic Education for the establishment of a radio station to operate on the AM band.

“The National Commission for Nomadic Education duly applied for broadcast license in furtherance of its objectives to develop and maintain nomadic education outreach programmes, including electronically mediated ones.

“The letter of provisional approval dated September 28, 2018, was issued to the National Commission for Nomadic Education. The duration of the license is from October 8, 2018 to October 8, 2023.”

The NBC noted that the station’s programmes, which it describes as “purely educational,” were designed to cater for the interest of migrant fishermen, herders, hunters, farmers, and migrants.

It added, “Consequently, it is a misrepresentation for any person or organisation to imply that the licensed station was just for a particular group.

“The commission wishes to state that similar educational broadcast licences were issued to institutions of higher learning and other governmental institutions with comparable needs, such as the Armed Forces of Nigeria, the Federal Road safety Commission, and related institutions.

If it's not for a particular group then, why name it "Fulani Radio"? Anyway, whatever damage control NBC is bringing out now is late. We have taken note and already interpreted what we thought the agenda was, and acting on it.
The truth is that we are living on false unity, but I wish we can really live as a nation but the happenings daily is pointing elsewhere.

Childish damage control from NBC.

Why must the radio station broadcast in Fulani Fulfulde language?
A language that only Fulani people understand.

Why not broadcast in Hausa language that everyone understands?
Shameless bloodsucking vagabonds in government.

It appears the tribalist president is tired of defending his Fulani brothers.
He used to tell us then that herdsmen are not involved in killings - claiming the murderers are from foreign countries.

so there is no radio stations in Hausa land? even if the radio stations in north doesn't have wider range which I'm tensed to disagree, why not go for expansion of the range to covered where these trouble makers roam to or even specialised an existed stations for them that would do that ?

if you're going to disseminate info to Fulani, it should be in a proper way, radio won't bring final solution to this genocide disguise herdsmen/farmers fight as someone is behind this herdsmen stupidity

why would someone come to my land to eat my crops, and feel establishing radio station for them is the solution for them not to graze the land I laboured to buy. the southerners should better be active and defend their various land

I heard how akoko youths was battle ready to enter any farms they see herdsmen and deal with them before Akeredolu intervene. no one had monopoly of foolishness, the herdsmen should better know this

In what language would they be broadcasting?
When we say the killer herdsmen are Fulani, they'll call for our head. Now they are setting up Fulani radio station. Soon, the inevitable will happen and freedom shall set in. It's just a matter of time before posterity catches up with them. The restless and tormented spirit of Nigeria will soon call for the blood of mischief makers and they shall pay with their generations.

Damage control.

Anyway someone warned us but many of didn't believe because we hate him.

Here are some of his predictions.

On 6th Feb. 2014 Mazi
Nnamdi Kanu said: “As they campaign
vigorously for elections, you
would think, they are
coming to grow the
economy, enthrone justice,
breed unity and tolerance, love for one another. No,
they are coming to enthrone
Hausa Fulani supremacy, to
reposition the security
agencies by sacking all
competent hands and replace them with their
kinsmen in order to drive
their ethnic domination of
the south, the Fulani
herdsmen will be armed and
encouraged to slaughter us with impurity and their
masters will protect them.
They are coming to ensure
that my people are enslaved
forever. Those who do not
believe me will soon see it happen before their eyes”

ON 12 Oct 2014: “The Fulani will take over
the entire south as a
continuation of their age old
agenda to Islamize Eastern
Nigeria. They will brazenly
seize our land in pretence of creating crazing fields for
the Fulani. Then the
conquest will be complete,
we will become their slaves
forever”

On 6th Nov 2014 “Between Jonathan and
Buhari, none is good for us.
Freedom remains our only
option, Jonathan is weak
and confused, Buhari is a
bloody thirsty tyrant, who will destroy the land with his
parochial view point. His
kinsmen will take over the
military and the security
architecture of the land.
Christians and Easterners will become endangered
species; He will use the
security apparatus to
advance the agenda of his
ethnic group. My people will
suffer”

On 2nd Dec. 2014 “Then a group deadlier than
Boko Haram will emerge,
they will seize our farmland,
rape our women, kill our
people and their master will
protect, defend and even arm them, because their
sole agenda is to enslave us
forever. Those who cannot
see it now, will soon see it.
The hatred in their souls for
my people is legendary. They do not see us as humans.
They kill, they slaughter,
they burn and they destroy.
Mindless bloodletting is in
their DNA. My people are in
trouble”

On 16th Jan 2015 “Unity flows with love and
mutual respect. This
artificial unity with people
who see you as an infidel
and unbeliever is fake and
dangerous. We are better off on our own. They kill
with impunity, yet they say
we must stay together. They
have only one agenda, to
chase away Jonathan and
enslave us forever. They are coming with
vengeance, anger and
revenge for the years they
stayed out of power. They
plan to intimidate, silence
and enslave us. Their world view is so strange and
different from ours, we are
in big trouble”

On 15th March 2015 “All we
ever wanted is
freedom to realize our full
potentials in the space of
land God Almighty placed us
in this planet, but there is
persons whose agenda is to intimidate and dominate
others. They hate freedom,
justice and fair play. They
enslaved Northerners for
centuries, they want to
extend and replicate this dominating culture down
South. They use terror as a
weapon of intimidation,
they have no regard for non-
Muslims, they hate us with
passion, yet they won’t let my people go. Their only
desire is to dominate and
oppress others, once they
are out of power; they
immediately resort to either
Pogroms (1966) Sharia law introduction (2000/2001) or
Boko Haram (2011). They
are enemies of peaceful co-
existence. We want
freedom, we respect justice
and equity, and above all, we respect the sanctity of
human live. These people do
not; they use terror to
intimidate and subdue in
order to rule over everybody
else”

Hmmmmmmm, why not name it Agric Radio or better still, incorporate it into Radio Nigeria services, having 3sessions daily, with each station working independently base on needs of Agric businesses in the domiciled state, and joining the network services for a joint program or report.
This Radio station at this time isn't well planned.

Force unity won't work. Lol. Nigeria is a funny country. In 50 years to come, I can bet u that Nigeria will still be struggling with electricity, water, roads, jobs, food, poverty, etc.

Archive this post. A country that wants to grow, there is usually a noticeable pattern, unfortunately, that is not the case with Nigeria. What pains me most is that it is the masses who will suffer this the most.

We are still hoping to get 1600 respondents for my friend's PhD survey questionaire. Pls, you can be of help.

Pls guys, a friend of mine is doing her PhD in the university of Florida.

She needs our help. She has her survey questionnaire crafted online. She is understudying birth control in Nigeria. That is a very interesting topic. She needs 1600 respondents for this research. You can participate. Survey takes less than 20 minutes.

Pls, to help her with your views about birth control, kindly check my profile and see the link on my signature. Just click the link and the survey page will open. It is done online and easy. Thank u so much. Don't forget to share with your friends too.

Nonsense. First, you withdrew license for privately owned arms and asked everyone with valid arms license and the arms, to return them to the police. Next thing, you want to open fulani radio that would be used to disseminate info to the Fulani alone. That way, it will become easy for them to carry out coordinated attacks, and nobody would have arms to resist them. Even the state governments that have formed vigilante groups to checkmate the marauding herdsmen, would be handicapped.

Why name it Fulani Radio when farmers, hunters and fishermen are part of the intended target audience? What is wrong with such a name like Agro Radio and broadcast in several local languages?

NBC should be ready to receive several application for ethnic themed radio station licenses!
