Nigeria is a tribal society. The only way we can have an issue based campaign is when all the aspirants are from the same zone, then Nigerians can ask 'what are you bringing to the table?'. That was the whole point of zoning in the first place. Its amazing that the zone with the smallest population, who can never win an election on the might of only their votes, would be the ones jettisoning the zoning arrangement. Even if they win this round, history will forever punish them because south-south does not have the numerical clout to be president by true vote. GEJ is disenfranchising the next generation of south-southerners.

The North dominated the presidency for long.The south agitated for Zoning.So why would the South-South,the weakest link in the south and even in the country destroy zoning?

Oh my God,in the interest of tommorow, let the Niger Delta people work to ensure that zoning is not abandoned.It was meant to protect the weak.And Ijaw and Niger-delta people are minorities against the 3 major ethnic groups.

Abeg go and rest. If really there is zoning, why do we have northern candidates that are not from North west geopolitical zone in the race? Is it zoned to the north or to the north west geo-political region.

secondly the constitution says "at all levels". Is that what has been happening at other levels or is zoning for presidency alone?
