Years of Wenger mis investment bearing fruit. The philosophy of buying young to groom has proven fatal. The facts are clear. The biggest budgets will get the best players that enable a tradition of silverware. Yhere is simply no way now to win trophies without a massive squad and a quality coach only good money can buy. I believe the successes of Tottenham and Ajax this season are the exception and cannot be a repetitive model anyone should aspire to. The clubs likely to be seen at major cup finals and breaking all sorts of sporting records are the Real Madrids, Barcelonas, PSGs, Manchester Citys of this world. Even clubs with strong footballing traditions but are relative conservative spenders such as Bayern Munich, Juventus and Atletico Madrid are falling behind and will find it increasingly difficult to win at the biggest stage. As for Arsenal the loss of a potential 100 million pounds leaving them with just 40 million for transfers clearly places them at the bottom of tier two clubs and I cannot see them qualifying for the champions league for sometime to come. They are in a viscious downward spiral. 3 Likes |

logon599: No, my brother. You have made plenty sense. Sad news, we only have 40million pounds for transfer. And apparently we don't have a technical director and a chief scout at the moment. Sigh |

logon599:u are already sentimental, if iwobi was very good in yesterday's match and wasn't mentioned on ur list becos he cannot make man city and liverpool teams according to u,is there any player among the ones u listed above, that can make man city nor liverpool teams. Pls if u want to be a good football pundit,u have to be neutral and don't allow sentiment to brainwash ur afonjo brain |

OTayobami: Blaming cech is baseless. Your defense was total error yesterday. Which of the goals exactly was keepers fault? The goals were conveniently placed behind your defenders. The best Gk in the world today would chop the same if defense wack. 2 Likes 1 Share

Pablonkor: I could not even get what to say that yesterday. They hijacked the thread all over before the match. Blabbing & yarning. The Barcelosa fans were supporting them lol. But right now, they’re like this 2 Likes 1 Share

[quote author=logon599 post=78847163]Massive work still needs to be done on this Arsenal squad. I looked at that team yesterday and honestly I saw only 6 players good enough to remain in Arsenal if truly they have any strong ambitions of challenging for anything: Aubameyang, Lacazette, Torreira, Guendouzi, Sokratis and Koscielny. The rest are the reason why Arsenal won't win anything major in the next five years. And yes I didn't include Iwobi even though he was Arsenal's best player yesterday, one or two good games doesn't make him a player you can depend on for the course of a season. Ask yourself will Iwobi get into the Man city or Liverpool squad? Don't be sentimental pls. I made my own assessment, you are free to make yours. Thanks[/quwith £40m as transfer abiote] |

logon599: I'm an arsenal fan and I agree with you 100.1%. Ozil is a devil... imagine as that final went...so anticlimax. guess the pressure was more on them. Chelsea, since there was no pressure, just came to do training. really bad day |

Arsenal caused their own failure. They say a bird in hand is better than thousands in the bush, Arsenal had the better chance to finish in the top three/Four in the last five games of the legaue but they lost to wolves, crystal palace and Leicester, thinking they still have a EL final to play and that will get them into the UCL, they have forgotten that a final is a game that can go either way.
