The United States State Department says you will now have to submit your social media usernames when applying for a visa into the North American country.

According to BBC, the new regulations also require that people also submit five years’ worth of email addresses and phone numbers.

This is part of the state department’s plan to ensure national security in the country.

“National security is our top priority when adjudicating visa applications, and every prospective traveler and immigrant to the United States undergoes extensive security screening,” the department said via an initial proposal in 2018.

“We are constantly working to find mechanisms to improve our screening processes to protect U.S. citizens, while supporting legitimate travel to the United States.”

1. No need to ask US citizens for their social media details because they are not applying for US Visa to enter their own country, so learn how to uses sane and rational logic on the internet.

2. The US government and employers in the US have every right to demand your social media details and they've been doing this for years, it's not against the law.

They are employers, you dimwit. You can choose not to answer, if you want the job or not.

The US government can not force their citizens to provide personal information, the way they would a non american looking to come to America.


Forcing you or not is not the issue, the question is, is it against the law or not when they demand your social media details. It is not because they do so every day. The other village joker said they will get sued, no they won't because it's not against the law.

Btw, they don't have to force any job seeker to do anything, it's up to them if they want the job or not, this is common sense which I doubt you know anything about.

Learn how to read and comprehend simple English words.

Don't register your real names on social media and don't take your main android or smart phones to the embassy.

If possible, get a new phone and open up old accounts you rarely make comments on.

Most importantly, avoid posting your pics on social media if you seek to beat any computer vetting completely.
