Wydad Casablanca did well to walk out of the match. Two legged final and VAR was used for the first leg, only for referee to refused using VAR on the ground that it has technical problem after Wydad Casablanca scored a clean goal, which the referee ruled out anyway. The trophy was eventually given to the Tunisian side after Wydad refused to continue if VAR can't be used. |

[quote author=logon599 post=78969689]What a mockery. I don't think it was compulsory to use VAR. They could have just gone ahead without it and use the referee as the final authority and the game will still go on fine. If you're going to use VAR the number one rule is that it MUST be available to check any incident throughout the 90 minutes, else it will affect the integrity of the game and the other team will protest, which is what Wydad did and I don't blame them, and CAF will be stupid to hand them any ban Even though VAR is not compulsory , it was used in the first leg in Morocco and this led to Wydad having a goal disallowed. Equity precludes that same rules have to apply in the 2nd leg. CAF really bungled it this time , to use the VAR technology is not a must if you don't have the wherewithal. 2 Likes |

OGHENAOGIE:Read the post again, SLOWLY. They were not aware it was not working and why shouldn't it in a game of such magnitude? Wydad merits an apology. If you are to use VAR, it must work! 2 Likes |

hisexcellency34: Don't mind us. Despite the fact that UK is more technologically advanced than all the countries in Africa they did not introduce VAR into the Premier League last season. |
