The Applicant Tracking System (ATS) is an automated system that reviews and collects CVs for many companies or organizations before the CVs are also reviewed by the Human Resources Manager before inviting candidates for interviews. The ATS is mostly used due to a large number of job applicants, especially for companies/organizations that are well known.

If the ATS goes through a CV and finds certain features like underlines, tables, photographs, and, graphs, the ATS will trash the CV. This is why job seekers/applicants must be very careful when drafting their CVs, so, as not to end up as one of those who will not be selected by the ATS.
