On the issue of state Police...I think Nigeria being a federation system of government, has given states space, and permission, to create a form of extra security, for its citizenry, as long as the state bears the cost, the Federal security structures/resources should be available to them, to enable the state police run effectively. Every state has its peculiarities, not every state might need or require State Police ,but some states, especially states with high crime rates, and states in strategic national border locations, definitely need extra policing, an extra layer of security. In light of happenings, i think it's imperative, and only right, for these set of law makers to unite, under this need for adequate security for the citizenry, in every nook and cranny of Nigeria...only state Police can do this. The police can be neutral, and act in accordance with the law, being established by the constitution, its authority will be above any one man, the benefits of state police surpasses the perceived shortcomings. Lagos is such a state that requires state police, due to the huge population, and commercial value of the city. God bless and guide us all.
