Nigerian politics is cunning and full of wicked hypocrisy. In fact, it is a farce that continues to trigger unending laughter instead of tears. If not, why will an alleged thief, caught in the camera stuffing dollars in his “babariga” still be allowed to judge? To what end? And what kind of message are we sending to the world? Following the recommendation of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission to suspend the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido, the governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has issued him a query that must be answered within 24 hours.

What bothers me is not the query, of course, Sanusi is not above the law, if he is guilty, let him be penalized–but why should Ganduje, the same person allegedly caught on video collecting a bribe of $5 million be the one issuing the query? At least, to save his face and that of the people he claims to govern, the Kano State House of Assembly should have been the one to issue the query.
