AIT Shut Down Is A Political Stunt By PDP by wirinet(m): 7:51am On Jun 08, 2019
Atiku and PDP are getting desperate in their attempt to win at tribunal. They hacked the INEC server and now they are using AIT to blackmail the tribunal judges and sway the general public into declaring them winner of the 2019 presidential elections.

Now, every fresh year student of law knows that a matter already in court cannot be discussed publicly, not to talk of creating a documentary about it, and broadcastering it. Dokpesi and his media team obviously knows the broadcast code against matters that are Sub Judice. So it's not possible for AIT to air the controversial documentary in ignorance.

AIT/RayPower had been receiving warnings and threats of closure from NBC for violating the broadcasting code for years. So they hatched a plan to take advantage of that threat.
AIT aired the documentary at 7pm on the 29th may, and the next day, they rushed to court to get an injunction stopping the NBC from closing the station, knowing fully well, that when the station is closed and they head back to court, the court will ask all parties to maintain the status quo, which is the 30th of May.

So on the 6th of June NBC unaware of the court filings went ahead and shutdown Ait/Raypower. The next day AIT/RayPower went to court and as planned the court asked to maintain the status quo, and AIT /RayPower reopens, gaining a lot of political capital apart from the political gains of airing the documentary.

Now, I am not saying that APC did not rig the elections ( in Nigeria all parties rig elections and the best rigger wins), what I am against is attempting to sway judges and the general public by using illegal and dangerous tactics. PDP should let the judges do their work, up to the supreme Court. This is not the first time a presidential elections is being challenged at the courts.
Atiku and PDP do not need to burn down Nigeria to become the president.

So a TV station would come out and ban itself despite a letter from NBC?...

Better to be quiet than sound empty.

It filled an injunction against NBC before the ban, so it knows the ban would be lifted (until the determination of the case)

This is a press release from AIT 1 week ago before the ban.

DAAR Communications Plc Alleges Planned Clampdown On Its Operations By Government Agencies

The management of DAAR Communications Plc says there are reports of steps by agencies of government, especially the National Broadcasting Commission and the Nigeria Police to clamp down on its operations and withdraw its operating licence.

As a prelude to the planned action, the regulator, NBC, has consistently issued letters of warnings to the company over reports, news commentaries and documentaries, such as “sanctity of judgements”, “who is a Nigerian”? and “the Nigerianness of Atiku Abubakar” perceived to be hostile, negative or unfavourable to the current administration.

The latest is a plan to use NBC to stop the transmission of the widely watched Kakaaki segment, Kakaaki social, which focuses on popular reactions of Nigerians to developments in governance and the polity.

The court ruled that the status quo should be maintained. If the status quo was after the ban, then the ban would be maintained. Since the court ruled that the station should be reopened based on status quo, it means the case was filed before the ban.

You guys need to engage in some sort of mental exercises to improve your cognitive skills. Maybe learn to play chess.
Where did I ask anyone to support my claims. On the contrary, I am looking for people to dispute it.

You've done a good job.

Your submission is thorough and impressive.

You don't expect those goats with the IQ of a gnat quoting you to have an intellectual discussion.

Well done once again.

Then it means NBC wasn't smart enough, were they not aware or served when AIT got the court injunction on may 30?
I blame most of these government agencies at times with the way they carry out their functions, that's why on many occasions they are ridiculed and people laugh at them,u need to tighten all loose ends before carrying out an arrest or enforcement

You are expecting a government agency to be smart and strategic? It's like trying to squeeze champagne out of rock. Most government regulators are just revenue (and ejunje ) collectors.
