We want to use this opportunity to bring to your notice that(Umueleke and Oloa ) in ndokwa east local govt , DELTA STATE is in its pitiable condition and to also use this medium to appeal that attention be paid towards the rehabilitation of this school.
A healthy learning environment in schools is only possible when students and teachers are provided with adequate facilities, not only related to teaching and learning, but also safe and sound infrastructure. Weaker structures due to aging and lack of maintenance and facilities which are also associated with Umueleke and Oloa are some of the reasons why incidents happen. There is growing roofs collapsing in schools and existence of dangerous buildings are not new; such incidents have become frequent due to buildings becoming old and lacking repair and maintenance with their condition eventually becoming dilapidated._
The above mentioned problem is associated with Umueleke and Oloa primary school,as the students/pupils are learning in an unconducive atmosphere. The experience of these pupils/students here is disheartening because all the classrooms are not in good condition for learning of which they (students/pupils) feel very uncomfortable in paying good attention to learning. There are only few dwarf and abdated chairs in the class rooms which are made by the parents of these pupils/
students. Majority of these students/pupils sit on the floor while receiving lectures. Even the staffs room and Principal office are not excluded as these rooms are flooded when it rains. Most of the time, Principal do sit under trees during the school period because of lack of inadequate facilities to ensure comfortability.
We are appealing to the State government and other well meaning Nigerian to come to our rescue as a matter of urgency because the condition of this school right now is beyond the reach of the parents alone.
We shall be grateful if our request is considered and request granted as we look forward optimistically for this to become a reality.
Thanks
