CROSS RIVER: E.J. WILLIAMS, EMERGES SPEAKER OF THE 9TH CRSHA- By Kebesobase

Members of the Cross River State House of Assembly has elected Rt. Hon. Eteng Jonah Williams, a member representing Yakurr II State Constituency, to pilot the affairs of the 9th State Assembly. He was unanimously elected today, Tuesday, (June 11, 2019) at the floor of the hallowed chambers. His sterling performance, and his track records in legislative business with eight years of legislative experience earned the feat.

Rt. Jones, hails from Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State. He holds a B.A in Media and Theatre Arts Studies, and a Masters Degree in Public Administration, all from the prestigious University of Calabar. His cognate experience in public administration span through 25 years. He was the Head of Administration of Jones-Tech International Limited, before the call to represent his people beckoned.

More so, as the Head of Jones-Tech International Limited, he supervised Jones-Tech International Limited Projects across Nigeria. He is also, the only lawmaker in the history of his constituency to be elected for the second and now for the third time to represent his people.

Rt. Hon. Jones, has also worked with the office of the OAU Chairman(Documentation Unit), at the Presidency, where he was in charge of the compilation and writing of the research project entitled ''OAU Abuja 91 Commemorative handbook''. This handbook contained various speeches of Head of States and Presidents of Member African Countries, during the OAU Summit in Abuja, in 1991.

Hon. Jones, has attended many conferences & seminars in Nigeria and United States of America. He is also a member of Nigeria-America Chamber of Commerce and Industry. And was on the Board of Jone-Tech International Limited and Enonye Ventures Limited. Jones has been a member of the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP), since 1999. He is a grass root politician and a team player, whose cardinal objective hinges on effective representation and purposeful leadership contrived to better the lives of his constituents. Jones as a legislator in the 7th and 8th Assembly in Cross River State, demonstrated uncommon leadership capacity which earned him the feat of being the only lawmaker with the highest number of sponsored bills.

He is happily married and blessed with three children.
