I do not mind the skeptics and atheists as such really. However, if one must be a mocker, it is important that one has at least a decent understanding of that which one mocks!  |

It is considered the norm in this age to encounter mockers who say, "The bible is a made-up fable written by men" Or "Where is your God now? He hasn't come yet and He never will!", or simply, "You're deluded." It is even worse in the West where some books pronounce God as “dead”, “non existent” or a more sinister qualification can be as bad as “useless” or “cruel”. People are increasingly resistant to the Gospel message of Hope and Salvation. They seem Ok with worldly ideologies, but not Christianity. However, their very mocking words are a validation of the times. Mockery can be compared to the sin of Judah that was inscribed with an iron chisel engraved with a diamond point on stony hearts. It is written in II Peters 3: "Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of His coming?" However what the mockers fail to realise is that a day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The lord is not really slow about his promise. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. But remember MOCKERS, the day of the Lord will come suddenly upon you as a thief. The Lord of Heaven has spoken that he is determined to crush all MOCKERS with a greater punishment that has never been seen before (Isaiah 28) The Lord of Host said that he will punish them with disease and bloodshed. He will send torrential rain, hailstones, fire and burning sulphur on all MOCKERS of Christianity. The Lord of Host will be their enemy and He will raise his fist against them to destroy them completely. The Lord will demolish their homes and make them desolate because they have failed to acknowledge the Lord of Heaven. In this way the Lord of Host will show his greatness and holiness, and will make himself known to all the MOCKERS. Then they will know that the Lord is God who created them. Therefore Brethren (Xtains) let all MOCKERS you come across realise that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understanding, or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God. MOCKERS, Beware! for the Lord of Host is ready to light a fire in your homes that will burn up everything around you. The choice is yours. Life or Death MORE TO COME  |

Skeptics are those who have raised objections to Christianity for reasons best known to them. Some of the reasons can be that they regard the Christian faith as being anti-women, anti-environmental, racist, anti-Semetic, and pro-slavery. Some just refused or do not understand the concept on some “God” sitting high and above somewhere controlling every world activity. To them this is not feasible. What they fail to realise is that Christianity to us is not a religion or simply faith. To us it is life. The Christian life involves having a relationship and fellowship with God and human beings. It is about loving God and our neighbours which normally require discipline. Living a life of prayer which is a step up from the natural to the supernatural realm. Now let’s talk about the supernatural. To tap into this realm, we engage ourselves spiritually by fasting and praying. Soaking ourselves in the Word of God. This enables us to walk on water metaphorically (meaning doing the impossible). Seeing with the spiritual eye what the physical eye cannot see. Hearing with the spiritual ear what the physical ear cannot hear. We walk confidently knowing that those who are for us are more than those who are against us. When we gather together as Christians in unity and one spirit, miraculous work happen that verify that we serve a powerful God who is more than able to do more than what we can ever do on our own. Putting on the whole amour of God gives us the ability to put the enemy to sleep. We live for Christ because we know and believe in the divine nature of Christ hence making our joy full. It is a shame that some (Skeptics) are unable to share with us this joy. Why? The ruler of this world has made them spiritually blind. Skeptics justify their stance with all form of human foolishness hence keeping them in eternal darkness. God called the light of out the darkness. We should all be children of the Light because God is Light. But God is a loving God and will never force his will on anyone. But the choice is always there. Choose DEATH OR LIFE. |

It infuriates me when Christian-illiterates (no insult intended) decide that Wisdom is a virtue (though rare) that can only be found on the pages of the Bible and nowhere else  @yommyuk do you truly read your Bible with purpose or do you see it as a Travel guide for use in this Lifetime. The Bible contains some key truths about the Nature of Man and his ultimate purpose and relationship with his fellow man and his GOD (or Gods if you may). A lot of religions carry some key truths that are sadly embellished with politically/selfish-driven writings of men who understood Man's need for unification with a supreme being and exploited this to their own selfish interests. @yommyuk you represent a large (and growing) proportion of Christians who apply knowledge without wisdom or understanding. similarly there are a large proportion of Muslims who do exactly what you are doing and the result is akin to giving a playful child a fully-loaded automatic rifle to take to the playground. For you i have this to point out Rom 10:2 (NIV) For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. Some truths i have always admired from the Bible are from Proverbs, it has very little reference to the act of faithless-grovelling without credible cause or discernible reason and plenty of useful, practical truths on living a purpose fulfilled life. These truths are captured in three concepts quoted below Prov 3:19-20a By wisdom [/b]the Lord laid the earth's foundations, by [b]understanding [/b]he set the heavens in place; by his [b]knowledge [/b]the deeps were divided Proverbs in summary is a book of instruction that teaches you to [list] [li]1: Get [b]Knowledge - Facts/Information/Experiences/Discoveries. it is a constant re-education process not a fixed exercise. it is never complete[/li] [li]2: Get Understanding - Meaning/Principles/Reason. it is an establishment (given facts and knowledge at that present time) of knowledge for others to leverage on[/li] [li]3: Get Wisdom - KNOWING What/How to do and the will to apply your understanding of knowledge you have acquired[/li] [/list] In short; Knowledge [/b]is the facts. [b]Understanding [/b]is the ability to lift the meaning out of the facts, and [b]Wisdom [/b]is knowing what to do next. There are those who claim (i call them rabble-rousers) to have reached the level where they have an abundance of all 3 virtues (there are a handful on Nairaland so i won't mention monikers) but the simple mistake they make is [b]Wisdom [/b]unlike the first 2 virtues of [b]Knowledge [/b]and [b]Understanding [/b]is a [b]"Spiritual Enlightenment" process that requires one to obtain a spiritual revelation or deep insight into the meaning and purpose of all things, to communicate with or understand the mind of God, to achieve some other type of profound spiritual understanding, or to achieve a fundamentally changed level of existence whereby one's self is experienced as an unchanging field of pure consciousness. You cannot study up to a point that you can acquire it. To the OP and hundreds of posters like him, i plead with your consciousness to truly understand your Holy Book(s) and have the God-given Wisdom to apply it to you daily discussions because really,we are all here to achieve enlightenment for the life hereafter, not wealth, freedom from sickness and disease and spiritual attacks etc. Cheers and Peace in the Middle-East |

@lagerwhenindoubt One thing you have failed to understand is that as a Christian, I don't mess about with my words. I call it the way it is. HARD TO THE CORE Come to my church, when I am around people don't mess around me. I don't believe in softly softly christianity. Not my nature. I have got the Spirit of Elijah in me bro and that is a fact. It is a matter of take it or leave it. Let me elaborate on 3 words you highlighted in your post. "KNOWLEDGE of the unknown" i.e. having insight into things that the mind cannot comprehend. It is like hearing a voice and not knowing where the voice is coming from. Imagine someone who has never had any affliation with a country and starts to speak the language in a local dialect. We christians call it speaking in tongues or prophesing. To you atheists, the person is going nuts. "UNDERSTANDING the unknown" - Christian get it because we know that the power of the Almighty God is being displayed. To you atheists, you don't get it and will never UNDERSTAND it. "WISDOM" The wise people know the right time to speak the right words and realise that, at times, even harsh criticism is neccessary. The atheists will never understand that the foolishness of God is far greater than the wisdom of man. Jesus Christ spoke most of the time in parables. Why? Because he knew that YOUR LIKE will never understand where he is coming from. Even his close disciples too did not get it all the time. So people like u have always been around. No suprise at all. Lastly, you wrong. In the bible you find all the wisdom u need and relate it to every aspect of your life. Does the Bible irritate u? read psalms 51 for purification of your mind and soul, then get in line. |

Do you know that it is the muslims that are protecting the sight of the tomb of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem? Let me tell you something a good praticing muslim who acknowledges Jesus as his Lord and savior will make heaven before many so called Xtians (especailly the fake pastors). |

Mudley313:Thats the normal trash that u are used to. This is NL moderated by individuals(not 'god') in order to ensure that uncivilized folks like u are routinely checked. If not, u wouldn't have been banned for breaking the rules. I remember manmustwac telling us openly that u were warned before being banned, but u refused to listen. I wonder what kind of a person u are that cant seem to make statement without insulting someone else. Now u ve started threading the path that leads to another ban. Good luck |

@Mudley, let me share with u a personal experience of mine this afternoon 5th oct 2010. A man walked into my office requesting some profession service(Real estate of course) We had a long chat&he was pleased with my explanations/advice&then gave me a very big job(i wouldnt mention the fee here). He later told me hes an active member of Nl in property section. I was shocked when he gave me his forum name, not knowing that we had a pleasant encounter online here on NL in the recent past. Imagine if either of us had argued or had insulted one another online in the course of discussion, how do u think we would av reacted upon realizing that today? So no matter what we need to be civil in all facets of life. When u reach certain stage in life u might understand better. |

What the atheists fail to understand is that the Bible never debates God, defends God, or seeks to prove God; the Bible simply affirms and proclaims God. It is only a fool that says in his heart,"There is no God". This fool is not an intellectural fool but a moral fool, not a person with mental problems but one who displays moral foolishness because of the corruption of his/her nature. This fool is not one who cannot reason, but one who reasons wrongly. It is not that the atheist doesn't know of God but that he/she rejects obvious knowledge, a rejection anchored in the depravity of his/her own heart. Deliberately and maliciously the atheist says:"No God". However God responds to such proclamation is "Fool!" In response to atheism and to all other intellectual positions of skepticism and doubt, we Christians, by faith, boldly and confidently proclaim: GOD IS!" Amen |

Mockers,Skeptics and atheists, the possibility of repentance is still open to you or at the very least a modification of what the Lord has threatened is still attainable. Unbelief is a symptom of demonic ativity dwelling in your spiritual being. This demon is called the python. The spirit of pride.The more you resist, the more the demon suffocates the breathe of life in you. This breath of life is Christ. Get rid of this demon b4 it is too late. God bless your souls |
