He said the inmates were drawn from various prisons in the state which include; the Olokuta Prison in Akure, Owo and Ondo, adding that some of those considered were serving jail terms ranging from two to eight years depending on the gravity of the offence committed.

He gave the names of the beneficiaries as: Olugbenga Ajayi, Daniel Henry, ldowu Josiah, Friday Peter, Timothy Baba, Dele Bassy, Ayodele Ojo, Omolewa Tayo, Bode Eniola and Afariogun Dotun.

Others include; Oluyide Gbenga, Afolabi Salau, Adebobola Adewale Rafiu ,Olawale Oluseyi, Odeleye Sunday, Lateef Oladipupo, Heworabi Sunday, Segun Tanimowo Gbodi Lanre and Adeogun Sunday .

Ogundare also hinted that Henry Ugbogu remanded at the Olokuta Prisons since April 26, 2010, having been convicted for conspiracy and armed robbery including Shina Akinnola also convicted in July 7, 2017, and earlier sentenced to death, had their sentences changed to life imprisonment.

The Prisons spokesman stated that the Comptroller of Prisons in the state, Barrister Suanu Kinane and the entire Prisons Service staff were indeed grateful to Mr governor for the amnesty granted the inmates, adding that such magnanimity would further help in decongesting prisons in the state.

He promised that the agency will continue to do its best in tackling challenges confronting the inmates presently awaiting trials in various prisons.
