One of the Worst ways to invest in Real Estate, especially for Nigerians living abroad is giving family Members Money to build or buy Properties for You here in Nigeria.

I know it's difficult to trust people with Your hard earned money, but there are a handful of Professionals, Consultants, Real Estate Firms and Companies whose job it is to do this on your behalf.

To me anyone who is duped by family members really did not do their DUE DILIGENCE well enough.

Earlier this week the internet was awash with the story of a Man who spent 13 years in Europe, and while living there kept sending money back home to his family to build a house which upon returning back to Nigeria he found out was not built.

While this is a very sad event, this kind of story is becoming more frequent and it is important to note that this situation can be avoided totally.

One of the biggest challenge that I have with the average Nigerian, is this Mindset that because You are literate or educated You don't need a Professional or a person who is trained in a certain area to put you through in areas where you are not trained in.

Prevention is by far better than cure. Please if you have to buy Properties or do any Real Estate Investment here in Nigeria "abeg follow who sabi road, to avoid stories that touch the kidney"

PS: When family members dupe or abscond with the Money You gave them to Invest in Real Estate, the only thing you will get back after wasting your Energy and Effort is Sorry, and Sorry won't bring your money or Investments back.
