I've heard clients complain of how some writers made a mess of the product review articles they contracted to them. They had a wide range of complaints, starting from poor punctuation, to bad structuring. Some even said that a couple of their writers resorted to the dreaded "copy & paste" approach.

It is true that some "writers" are in the business for a quick pay, and don't plan to write for long. Hence they are not interested in developing their skill, but that doesn't mean there aren't aspiring writers out there who truly have a passion for writing and are willing to learn how to write the proper way.

In this article, I'd like to drop some tips you can use to write product review articles the right way. These tips will help you deliver high quality product review articles to your clients, hence retaining them for future jobs. Read on!

1. START WITH AN INTRODUCTION

Before you talk about the product itself, start by stating the problems the product can solve. For instance, if you are reviewing a particular brand of insecticide, you can start with something like - "Are you tired of being bitten by mosquitoes, even though you've spent a fortune on sprays?" The example above states 2 problems -

* You're being bitten by mosquitoes
* You've spent a lot buying insecticides but none of them seem to work effectively

After stating the problems, you can proceed to introduce the product. You can follow up the example above with a line like - "Not to worry, Bleep insecticide contains Bleep ingredients that terminate mosquitoes fast, and they are very affordable too". A line like this will draw the readers in, being that their problem can potentially be solved by the product you are talking about.

You will also have to point out some factors the potential buyers need to consider before they purchase the product. Advise them to consider factors like size, weight, compatibility, user safety etc. All depending on the type of product you're reviewing of course.

The next step is to end the intro and start reviewing the product.

* Be sure to place the keyword in the first paragraph of the introduction. This will help in SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

* Keep the sentences short (an average of 20 words per sentence) and don't use more than 3 sentences in a paragraph (so it doesn't get long and boring)

* The intro shouldn't be too long. Every sentence should contain relevant information. Straight to the point

* Remember, a good intro should start by stating the problems, introducing the product, and asking the potential buyer to consider certain factors before purchasing


2. TALK ABOUT THE PRODUCT IN DETAIL

After the intro, proceed to talk about the product in detail. Concentrate on the special/useful features it has and briefly talk about how to use them. Write in a friendly tone, remember you're trying to get the readers to buy.

After writing about the products in paragraphs, you can use bullets to highlight it's key features.

Try and make every sentence informative, don't "beat about the bush" with long, unhelpful sentences. Remember that the reason people read product reviews is to get information about the product, and not to hear long stories.

3. TALK ABOUT THE PROS AND CONS OF USING THE PRODUCT

The truth is, there is no such thing as a perfect product, and the readers know this. Yes, you will write about the advantages of using the product (pros) but you also need to talk about a few shortcomings of the product as well (cons)

Your unbiased review will put some trust in the readers.

4. WRITE A SHORT CONCLUSION

After the pros and cons of using the product have been outlined, proceed to end the article. Your conclusion should show that you have the reader's interests at heart.

End with something like - "I hope this review has been helpful in making your final choice" (for example)


IMPORTANT NOTE - Creatively fit in the keyword about 5-8 times throughout the product review article. This will boost SEO.
