Since he has passed the bill now, COREN should allow HND holder to write exam without PGD....

No leader sets out to be a leader. People set out to live their lives, expressing themselves fully. When that expression is of value, they become leaders. So the point is not to become a leader. The point is to become yourself, to use yourself completely – all your skills, gifts and energies – in order to make your vision manifest. You must withhold nothing. You must, in sum, become the person you started out to be, and to enjoy the process of becoming-Warren Bennis

The bill is all about the polytechnic governing council and extension of the tenure of a polytechnic rector from four years to five years.

Instead of Buhari to sign bill to abolish Bsc/HND dichotomy, wat a wasted signature.

I don't know why people cannot read and understand a simple Act. Before now, Polytechnics function is to produce middle level manpower but the new Act now read ' middle and high level manpower.

HND is for middle level while Master degree and PhD is for high level manpower. The implication is that polytechnics can now run Masters degree and Phd

I can tell you for free that the level of his "illiteracy" has achieved what your entire generation no matter their level of education may hope to achieve for their entire existence if God allows it.

President Muhammmadu Buhari on Tuesday signed two bills into law.

Buhari assented the Polytechnic Act Amendment Bill as well as the National Institute for Security Bill.

Recall that the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) on Wednesday appealed to Buhari to sign the Polytechnic Act (Amendment) Bill to address many challenges confronting the sub-sector.

ASUP stated that all observations cited by the President during the Eight Assembly had been rectified, corrected and transmitted, adding that the bill had passed through all legislative processes as all observations initially made by the President had been addressed.

What's the benefit of a bill that is targeted at the lecturers non academic staff all people except the main people the schools were established for- the students - if the govt doesn't give them what they want they strike who suffers the students, when they are not on strike they fighting for salary increment fighting for superiority between 2 different cadres academic and none academic - but who is not important -the students! - shameful
