If she has concluded whelping it not abnormal to have a singleton. Various explanations can be given. Maybe only one egg was successfully fertilised or more than one egg was fertilised and were re absorbed during pregnancy or the mating took place towards the end of her fertile window meaning only one egg was available to be fertilised or the male one good sperm from the stud semen made it to one egg out of others that were waiting in the female....etc 1 Like |
