How Jacob Served His Uncle 14 Years To Marry His Cousins And Their Step Sisters As Bonus.


The story of Jacob and his wives is crazy in a reality TV kinda way.
If you are reading this, you'll enjoy it like it's a slapping sweet "agbalumo" gossip narrated to the bending bewilderment of friends by the stream.


First, Jacob's mother Rebecca had to send Jacob far away to stay with his uncle Laban (Rebecca's Brother) because Esau his twin brother was ready to kill Jacob for scamming away his birthright for only one plate of porridge and also deceiving their blind old father Isaac (with help of their mum) to bless Jacob as first son.


While Jacob was living with Uncle Laban, he fell in love with his daughter Rachel, his first cousin. Hmm, crazy, but in love, Jacob proposed to work seven years for Laban to be able to marry Rachel. Laban agreed.
On the seventh year, at the wedding, Laban decided to play a fast one on Jacob and presented Rachel's older sister, Leah under the veil to Jacob and they got married. Lol drama �
Jacob confronted Laban who justified the marriage scam by saying the oldest daughter must get married first by tradition. Jacob calmed down and took Leah as wife because Rachel was also given to him but not fully until he worked another seven years for Rachel's bride price. Lol yea, a whole 14 years! Anything for Rach, Jacob agreed.


As if that was all.


When God saw how much Jacob loved Rachel, He decided to balance things up, so He made Rachel temporarily infertile and gave four sons to Leah. Lol, God was probably hooked on the show.
Rachel was very jealous for that so she decided to offer her maid, Bilhah to Jacob as surrogate. Jacob agreed and Bilhah gave birth to two sons for Rachel.
Guess what Leah did? She responded by also giving her maid Zilpah to Jacob (lucky man) and they also had two sons. Gbas Gbos lol.
Meanwhile, Bilhah and Zilpah the maids were actually half sisters of Leah and Rachel.
Yea, feel free to take one minute �
But God finally opened the womb of Rachel and she gave birth to two sons, Jacob's favorite, Joseph and Benjamin.
If you think, Jacob's family was crazy, wait till I share that of David his casanova grandson.

Scam and Karma runs around this family lol, maybe Jacob got what he deserved from his Uncle for scamming his older Twin Esau out of his birthright. I even remember that Jacob cheated and cornered a lot of goods while serving the 14 years and became almost as rich as his Master/Uncle while he was still serving. He eventually ran away with Rachel on the sixth year of the second tenure but the uncle/inlaw caught him and they finally settled amicably �




Rachel, like Sarah (Abraham's wife, Jacob's grandfather) and Rebecca, (Isaac's wife) remained unable to conceive. According to Tikva Frymer-Kensky, "The infertility of the matriarchs has two effects: it heightens the drama of the birth of the eventual son, marking Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph as special; and it emphasizes that pregnancy is an act of God."

Plays like a scene from the Godfather or The Sopranos.
