Is anyone able to see what these Yoruba elders just did?

So there are two meetings ongoing in West.

1. Facilitated by DAWN for Governors to hold a stakeholders meeting on security for the SW region. This is more or less a Town Hall congregation to connect at local level.

2. A second one held by Ooni and Alaafin to synthesize and form quorum with traditional rulers on security issues in Yorubaland. This is like State of State meeting and where the decision-making will come for a directive to lock Yorubaland down if need be.

The Aso Rock visit by Yoruba Elders is a reconnaissance. It serves two purposes...

(a) it registers our grievance formally at the Federal Level and with the Commander of National Security.

(b) it marks a milestone in the partnership between Yorubaland and FG on security. You notice that SGF is in this picture...it is not by accident!

It is my suspicion that these Elders were selected and Tinubu was ordered to lead the way and get them audience with the Commander in Chief. This is a typical Alaafin's dispatch, guaranteed! We wouldnt know now until a time in future. grin

Here is someone with good understanding of the politics at play here.

Rather than outright confrontation, strategized planning in form of dialogue together with underground reconnaissance and subtle armed approach in those hot spots, is a more civil approach.

I think the marauders (fulfude herdsmen, bandits, kidnappers and their indigenous cronies) will be watching and have an idea of the impending and inevitable clamp down on their activities.

Great analysis.

This exactly the case. Forget those saying balderdash up there. They know the truth but they just choose to act ignorantly. Anything about yorubas success and advancement give them sleepless nights and hence they always look for a way to run anything positive about the SW a negative limelight...call it bad mouthing...you are right, that is their way...very bitter set if people.

Let me tell you something.

Nigeria is like a a couple who quarrel all day and retire to bed. They are bound to forget to lock tje doors. They are bound to forget to turn off the gas. They are bound to put themselves in harrms way. Nigeria is presently at war with its constituents. Tjis country is more divided than ever before. There is no justice or equity anywhere. Hostility is rife. The state of the nation is weaker than ever before yet those on authority and their supporters like youself think they can just soldier on successfully.....

If you understand the term strength in unity. If you understand how fragile silk can be woven into bullet proof apparel then you will understand how important it is to unite the peoples of this country in ONE IDEOLOGY to make any meaningful progress but since you guys insist in dividing Nigeria along ethno-political lines, supporting nepotism, degrading and seeking to destroy the safeties of real multi-party democracy.... then how can you exoect oeace and anything to work well.

It is the cracks in the walls that permit rodents in. And the wider the cracks the bigger and the more dangerous the animals that will seek prey. Enjoy your country.

People amply issues to satisfy their selfish interests. One thing that I am sure of is people will stop paying attention to herdsmen-farmers standoff as soon as Buhari's tenure ends. By then it would have stopped being a necessary and cheap tool to use. Perhaps another antibelly in relation to the ethnic origin of the next president will attract more attention.

The reason Nigerian youths do not have good judgement is that they are uneducated and unreasonable. Just like their fathers and mothers, they seem to understand everything through the prism of tribe and religion. No country where such ignorant people predominate can be successful because habits formed now will surely influence their behaviours tomorrow when they become leaders. It is a shame that we have not given up our primitive character which was the reason our people were sold into slavery. We will forever remain backward and insignificant in the world if we don't give up our primitive mentality.

First of all, stop your ignorance about kwara. I am from kwara state and I know much more about my state than you. No one terrorizes anyone. There have been bad eggs in the society from time immemorial and such act is not limited to SW only. In fact it's one of the least region affected. As you know we are very pragmatic and proactive people we will never allow what is happening in other regions to happen in SW. We are the soul of Nigeria. Once SW decides to leave as a region then there will be no country called Nigeria.

Someone who envies will never admits it. So that's normal. I never expected you to admit your state of bitterness and envy. You wanted the influence that the yorubas have but unfortunately, you never got it and hence your negative reactions. Thats reverse psychology in action young man...lol
