Melancholy by shedo4sure: 6:55am On Jun 26, 2019 |
MELANCHOLY The sky looks dark as the yawning grave Surrounded by a thick black cloud as the the mantle that shrouds the blind its' dark shadow was cast round my domicile as if it were a darkness festival The lighted electric bulbs in my room couldn't scare the darkness away. Darkness surrounds my heart like an audience witnessing a play performed on a stage A gentle breeze blows through my heart leaving a feeling of melancholy. My heart feels heavy like a spade that digs in clay My thoughts corrupted with fear My will manipulated by pessimism My vision blurred by uncertain future. Taste of hopelessness consumes my tongue like soured wine I can hear strange voices whispering sad, interrogative and suicidal thoughts/words to my ears. Is this life worth living in the absence of material things/possessions? Is fraudulent acts/cyber crimes the only way to amass wealth ? Is taking my own life the only solution to this heartbreak I'm feeling inside of me? I thought being educated or having a degree ushers you to El Dorado I thought Money can't buy true love I thought hard work can make one wealthy I thought passing an examination requires smart work and intelligence I thought children and the youths are the leaders of tomorrow. The voices slowly fades away till it was no more Black colored tears rolls down my cheek Then I opened my eyes and stopped writing. ©All rights reserved Shedo DYP 2019 |
