Organisation is one thing that many are yet to make a habit. Nevertheless, most parents especially mothers have a penchant for an organised home. Even at that, most kids still find it hard to stay organized.
And this is not peculiar to your child. It’s everywhere. Minders Montessori has become concerned about the organisation of our pupils as well as everyone connected to us.
So, we hope you can adopt some these successful tips we have implemented. To help your little baby (well, they might be taller than you are now), we have scouted for practical ways to help them inculcate the habit. This journey will be exciting.
1. Keep a Family Calendar: Provide a calendar that can be accessed by everyone in the family. Allow inputs from their own calendars and guide them in using whenever they want to make their own plan.
2. Checklists or To-Do List : You can make it something that would excite them. In schools, we encourage the use of timetables. It ensures we meet up with our plans for the day. Simplify it for them. It can be something as simple as “four things to do before bed”. This habit will help your child strategize tasks and organize his time.
3. Involve Them In Task Relating To Sorting or Categorizing: One other way you can develop this habit is by involving them in the categorization of items like sorting plates or cleaning out closets. No matter what you want them to be involved, ensure it’s one that they might either make plans before time or think deeply about its arrangement.
4. Regardless of their destination, encourage them to always make their preparations a night before the day.
5. A Place for Everything: Ensure to create a place for everything in the house. Provide closet organizers or containers to help out in arranging her personal items.
6. Get Them A Planner : Take them along when you intend getting a planner for them and ensure they pick their choice. The excitement alone will make it dear to them. To avoid conflict with the family calendar, moderate his/her calendar.
7. Organise schoolwork: Go through her notes and bags to encourage them to be organized.
8. Homework Routine : When you build a sort of study hour for your child, you are assured that it would become habits. The human body has a way of adjusting to things that become constant through the help of others. In case, she doesn’t have homework to do, encourage her to read or do something else around studying.
9. Reward and Provide Support: You can look for ways to encourage them when they have been involved in various organization processes. When they find it challenging, let them know you trust them to finish the task.
We trust you will always work with them.
