SCOPE OF BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING

According to the reports, there will be a surge in the demand for biomedical engineers and it is predicted to rise to 23 percent between 2014 to 2024. Today, people who are facing problems related to knee or hips are even opting for replacement procedures. In the past, some of the medical tests were quite painful. However, biomedical engineers work are working towards developing technology that is less painful for patients. Every day new ways are devised to do blood tests, screening for infectious diseases and in genetics. Today, we see a surge in heart and kidney ailments as well as problems related to joints. In order to overcome these, bioengineers are involved in the designing and construction of devices such as cardiac pacemakers, defibrillators, artificial kidneys, blood oxygenators, prosthetic hearts, and joints.
