he driver of a commercial vehicle who was kidnapped last week Tuesday by gunmen has regained freedom.
Felix Akinde, who was abducted along Akure/ Ikere Ekiti road regained freedom on Saturday, after eight days in captivity.


Akinde was waylaid by his abductors at a bad portion of a road close to the NYSC farm in Iju/Ita-Ogbolu in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo state.

The victim was driving alone from Ado-Ekiti in his Toyota Privia Space commercial vehicle when the incident occurred.

It was gathered the abductors contacted Akinde’s family on Thursday via telephone demanding N5m as his release clause.


Multiple source close to the victims claimed that undisclosed ransom was paid to his captors before he was released.

[b]The victim who came to the Ado motor park in Akure, Ondo State on Sunday morning was seen narrating his ordeal to his colleagues

The motor park erupted into jubilation galore with many of his colleagues making several inquiries from him on the incident

It was gathered that Akinde was terribly injured with severe cuts on his head.
