The Inland Containers Nigeria Limited (ICNL) on Tuesday organised a maiden Stakeholders' Forum meeting to discuss measures to adopt for effective and efficient cargo delivery to the hinterlands.

The participants drawn from maritime industry, import and export business units , relevant regulatory agencies such as : Nigerian Customs Services, Nigerian Shippers Council , Nigeria Standard Organisation ,NAFDAC and others attended the stakeholders meeting held at Tahir Guest Palace Hotel,Kano State to discuss and fine tune their roles in ensuring effective and efficient cargo delivery to the hinterlands.

In his welcome address during the one-day meeting , the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Inland Containers Nigeria Limited ,Alhaji Ismail Yusuf emphasised the need for Stakeholders and players in the maritime sector to work together for effective service delivery.

According to him, as a terminal operator , the pulse of customers is very important and that is why ICNL is committed to assisting players within confines of operation capacity to grow their business.

He however ,said in order to enable customers make payment for services from comfort of their offices ,an online payment platform to has been launched.

He further said , " We have concluded plans to launch our Enterprise Resource Plan(ERP) ,which will generate all our operation processes in one platform enable customers have real time information on the status of their transaction as well as track trucks conveying cargo from Lagos terminal.

" We have commenced purchase of trucks to ease the burden of customers by providing top notch ,end-to-end service delivery."

He urged participants to take advantage of the knowledge and insights of the conference to to address the challenges experienced in the course of interface with regulators.

Meanwhile ,he commended all the resource persons, who according to him are carefully selected to educate Stakeholders on salient laws ,policies ,rules and regulations .
