The Federal High Court in Port Harcourt has convicted and jailed three persons, Olujimi Mayokun, Peace Eze and Adaugo Okafor for abducting and selling a two-year-old boy. They were arraigned on November 13, 2018, by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons on six counts of child abduction and sale of person. The prosecution said the offences contravened Sections 13 and 21 of the Trafficking In Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act 2015. Our correspondent learnt that NAPTIP and the Inspector-General of Police’s Monitoring Team arrested the trio during a joint operation. They were nabbed after abducting the baby from Awka, Anambra State, and taken to Port Harcourt.
