The Difference Between Career Summary And Career Objectives by TheCvBank: 12:33pm On Jul 05, 2019
Let me explain the differences between “CAREER SUMMARY and CAREER OBJECTIVES” in your CV/Resume.
I have come to understand that some experience professionals cannot differentiate between CAREER OBJECTIVES and CAREER SUMMARY in their CV/Resume.

Where you don't understand, how can now ask questions.

After your name, the next section is your CAREER OBJECTIVES or CAREER SUMMARY. That’s the first thing everybody sees.

Quickly Let’s find out the difference between CAREER OBJECTIVES VS CAREER SUMMARY

Every section of your CV/Resume has its own rule you must follow.
Career Objective has its rule.
Career Summary has its rule.
Work experience has its rule
Achievements has its rule of figures , numbers and percentages
Responsibilities has its rule of knowing how to use past and present tense verbs.
Skills sections has its rule because work experiences and skills saw like brothers and sisters. They share the same relationship.
Certifications has its rule because it has something to offer in the skills section of your CV/Resume.
Reference has its rule as well.

I will be showing you the rules Behind CAREER OBJECTIVES and CAREER SUMMARY.

(A). THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CAREER SUMMARY AND CAREER OBJECTIVES

How do employers that you’ve applied to for a job get a quick idea of who you are and what sort of work you’re looking for?

The faster way is to provide a career summary or career objective in the top portion of your CV/resume, right below where your name, address and contact info appears.

1. CAREER SUMMARY!

A career summary provides a brief, focused overview of your work experiences. It tells the employer what your experiences and specialty is as an employee, and serves as an introduction to the rest of your resume.

Note: A career summary is often written in paragraph form, with up to four or five sentences. It can be used in all resumes regardless of how much, or how little, work experience you actually have.

How and why you must write a career summary?

It Should be in a paragraph form.
It Should not exceed seven sentences.
It Should be located at the very top of your resume.
It Will be a good introduction to your resume.
It helps to summarised your work experiences.
It helps recruiters know what your specialty is.
It Should be employer-focused. Not Self-focusing because it will distract the recruiters.

Take Note of the last bullet point. It should be Employer-focused. Not self-focusing because it will distract the recruiters.

Career summary should look like this (Samples)

These are key terms to use on your CAREER OBJECTIVES.

To Obtain, To seek, To desire, To improve, To desire etc....

It's goes on and on and on. But must always begin with "To"

So it's just a simple rule one must follow at all times

Anybody caught breaking these simple rules you know the consequences already. Consequences of not been called for Job interviews.

Lets take these recommendations and keep on sending out those applications to secure a better job for ourselves soon.
