The world is a global village, which is full of amazing places , nature itself would not stop surprising us with some of its beauties, from the rocks , to vegetation’s, to the oceans, landscapes, desert, islands, all this are what makes nature astonishing and very fascinating to study ,watch and observe.
The love for nature as made us curious to always find out more than what we see every day that nature wants to offer , which begs the questions, did giant exist, there books written and research done on the existence of giant in the ancient days, the bible as its story, the scientist have there’s too. This is our story.
IjinleTV embarked on a trip to a town called Idiko-Ago, Oyo State, Southwest of Nigeria, on the 15th of December last year, it was a bright morning we had to wake up very early as 5am so we could beat traffic, on our way moving from coast to coast you would be astound by the unmatched beauty of natural vegetation, rocks, hills and landscape we encountered on our way going.
We pass through some towns and villages like Igboora, which has the highest twins birth in the world and also, Idere, Ayite, Tapa, Igangan, Iganna , Iwere, before we final got to Idiko-Ago which was our destination, the journey took us four hours from Lagos which was our take-of point.
On getting to the town, the villagers already knew they had visitors because it was a small town and every one of them knew each other except us. They welcomed and entertained us with food and drinks, quickly we asked one the villagers to take us to the house of the oldest man in the village.
The man whose name is Chief Peter Adedokun Omideyi, he holds the chieftaincy title the ‘Aro of Idiko Land’, the Chief extensively took us through the history of the town , he said dwellers of the of the community migrated from a town called Oyo town, he mentioned that the first people to step on that land lived behind a rock called Oke Maare , the rock was also use as a place of hide out during communal war, immediately he mentioned the rock, we were all eager to have a look and explore, we asked him about how frequent the villagers visited the rock and he said most indigenes and dwellers in the town don’t fancy moving close or even climb the rock to the peak.
After a comprehensive briefing about the community, the crew took out time to explore the mountain, moving through the forest with sounds of bird singing; we later found our way through to the base of the mountain it’s a massive one I must say, it has a height of about 150metres above sea level, perpendicularly in shaped occupying a land mass of about 70acres of land.
We summoned courage to climb cause the rock as no stairs and its slopes: any slip from any of us will lead to a fall, on our way up we encountered this giant footprint scattered across the rock not all of them looked well shaped but we took pictures of the ones that are pleasing to the eyes, swiftly we moved up to the peak of the mountain which looks more like normal land, the crew spent some minutes at the top and decided to go back to where we found the footprint to have a second look.
The crew took photograph of some of the dwellers that went with the crew to explore the rock will coming down. We had to sleep over that day, on our way back while having a chat in the car we wondered how the footprint got there we started making assumptions but one thing for sure is that some people have been in existence before us that are giants which the bible and science has confirmed.
This adventure changed the crew orientation more about nature, that nature is beyond what you see in your immediate environment and we are curious to believe that some giant people existed before us; nature will always show us new things only if we travel around because memories will always return but time will not.
