And to think some persons are already defending Buhari is even a bigger cause for concern.

You want to know the numbers of cows to prevent cattle rustling??

Why don't you take census of your citizens so as to know when there are illegal migrants into your territory.

We all know the importance of human census! What your post shows is you don't know the importance of animal census! I am not Fulani but I keep animals! The tracking aspect will tackle cattle rustling. Cattle rustling is a MAJOR facilitator of crime in Nigeria. The Zamfara problem is majorly cattle rustling. Do you know how many Nigerians have lost their lives to that crisis? This will prevent it. In fact, like many things this Administration is doing, this was planned by GEJ administration but as usual not implemented

Cattle rustling is done more by the fulanis themselves and not farmers. What happens to other food animals? Are they not also meant to be included in the animal census? Why only cattle? If the FG really wants to mediate in the clashes, they know what to do without being biased to just a particular tribe. This is the age of sophisticated modernization.

Say what ever you will to make yourself look smart but I got some questions for you... Does counting these animals make them unstealable? Is it farmers who rustle these cows or fellow fulanis? Is the bone of Contention between farmers and herders cattle rustling or they herders invading their lands and farms with their cows to eat up their crops? How exactly does this program help the country?

And FYI....I happen to think that Fulanis should set up cattle ranches in the far North, and ship their cows by rail to makrtets elsewhere in the South....just so that you don't think I am a Fulani.

this govt values Cows than its citizens. it has always been the story since the first tenure, its all about cows. why not count the number of people that has been killed by herdsmen.
why count animals that are butchered everyday for human consumption, this govt is a joke. we should aim high on who to rule, cos Buhari still think we are still in old age where people ride on camels, whereas a country will transport people to space

it's actually a really stupid idea by the FG, another useless endeavor meant to waste money and achieve nothing.

Unless you are saying you expect illiterate herdsmen to document every birth, death or sale of any of their cows afterwards with some ministry responsible for animal population, that census become obsolete quickly and can even cause more harm than good.

A herdsman can sell a cow and then claim it was stolen, and the census figures would back up his tale of having more cows before. How do you verify such claims? How do you monitor nomads?
