I can even spot my kind of phone.., what a waste of thousands... mtcheeeew!! I wonder why some lecturers and school administrators are just unreasonable. Burn cellphones?? I have never heard of that before. Highest they could have done was seize (permanently) or issue malpractice forms to culprits. I know they were trying to teach the students a lesson. Sometimes I blame students for the treatments they receive. Read dem no go gree read, na to dey carry expo upandan.. Burning a mobile phone doesn't sound reasonable to me shaa... It will serve as a deterrent to students planning on cheating through this means but the act is not okay because it is a complete waste of resources.. |

Well, i aint surprised that it happen in that school & in that town They are noted for such attitude and behavioural problem in that environment. I am short of words. When, u challenged people of that town. They tend to deny it. Meanwhile, the theory of Man & his environment plays out much in that town. Environment influence man and vice versa in a negative notion there. Imagine that this incidence happen in a citadel of academic learning. |

When Federal government size Jewelres, cars and properties from currupt and criminal activities through EFCC, CUSTOMS & POLICE, there auction it and put the proceed into the fedral government account. An institution should do same instead of creating polution. The Rector should be warned not to do same again. |

TundeeednuT: It seems they are unclaimed handsets. There are no good phones among them. These are handsets but not phones. Seems the owners refused to claim them since the fine is more than the phones. That's the trick Custom Officers use on traders to leave their goods behind while they auction them to some acclaimed Importers who work hand in hand with them or they use them to open shops for their wives. |

This is foolishness. What offense did these phones commit. After penalizing the students through rustification and suspension, you still burnt their devices. Buhari will like this. |

Tolexander: Actually, they have even no rights to keep the properties of students in any useless laboratory. The students have rights to their personal data. The university / poly is meant to invent better methods of dealing with exam malpractice than burning their phones. What if some of those students borrowed those phones? Are they trying to say they could not come up with better ways of monitoring students during examinations? C Cant they make the exams / tests oral? Cant they search and strip the students of any gadgets before the exam commences? Cant they man the halls with more invigilators? Cant they install electronic equipment that detect frequencies of phones that are on during the exams? Cant they install cameras at specific angles and have inspectors watching the footage throughout the exam duration? We all have rights to our properties and this is one hell of a violation that shows our schools are there for decorative purposes. Even WhatsApp that we all use, if you switch to these modded versions like GBWhatsApp, the original Whatsapp can only temporarily ban you. They can't place you on a permanent ban, even with your violations. Yet we pay no dime for it. This is to show you the price and sensitivity of personal data. That school and her authorities should be sued pronto! |

That school and it's management are so retarded. Look at how they are wasting our economy. Why burn them, why not auction it or keep it for practicals, or better still, why can't the students pay and have their phones back... Bunch of fools managing an institution of learning! |
