Enough of the celebration, biko. We have more concerns right now. There is Feghouli, Mahrez, Delort, Ounas and Slimani to worry about in our next game.

Whatever happens, I pray Drake does not famz us and wish our dear Super Eagles well.

The keeper has not really been tested. Before the South Africans scored. He was way outside of the post that I wondered what was happening. I was even screaming at my TV like he'd listen to me. grin

The Algerian team has the best, attack-minded team in the tournament. Their backline is incredible, with only a goal conceded so far.

If our defenders can bleed out and shield our GK, we just might have a chance against them.

Caution sometimes leaves the realm of mere respect for the opposition to pessimism.
Any which way, better not to under estimate your opponent.

I would prefer to play Algeria than Ivory Coast, not for fear of them but because of the tendency for them to play their best because its Naija and a sort of derby like it is with us playing Ghana/Cameroon. We play similar style and are equally more physical than the North Africans.

Algeria will come running at us like the South Africans, but our style of slow football always disrupts such tactics and that is where my confidence lies against Algeria or any North African side.

It isn't hard to figure, is it? We were almost killed by Madagascar, the same team that was beaten mercilessly yesterday by Tunisia. Anyways, the goal Ivory Coast scored is the only one Algeria has conceded in the tourney.

Your result sheet shows they conceded a goal against Burundi in their opening game.
But I get your point how tight they are at the back.

Look again... That wasn't in the AFCON. The 1-1 they played against Burundi was a friendly. SO FAR, THEY HAVE ONLY CONCEDED JUST ONE GOAL!

That game against Burundi wasn't at AFCON. It was a pre tournament friendly game.

My take on Eagles'game against Algeria. We all know Super Eagles tend to perform better when they face an opponent they feel is better than them, we've seen this over the years. Algeria will come all out against Nigeria, but I know we will disrupt their play. Super Eagles have that way of not making you enjoy your style of play as the opposition, they disrupt your plays and it only takes a costly mistake for the opposition to break us down.
Algeria have some very skillful and dangerous players, but we shouldn't forget we have some too. Our defensive midfielder have been great in this competition, Ndidi marks a lot and Etebo does a lot of running, they never tire out. Iwobi has been shaky but he's somehow reliable cos he's got vision and doesn't misplace pass too often (he's skillful too).. we have Musa with pace and a very bright Chukwueze. Ighalo is unpredictable but he can spring surprises, let's hope it's his day, but he isn't overly bad as we portray him. Our defense is okay too, and they only issue I have is Akpeyi. He is not a great gk, I'm sure he knows this himself, but our defense have been good enough to shield him.
whether we like it or not, the teams we played recently, SA and Cameroon are good teams, but we beat them and even limited their scoring chances, most especially SA. if you watch SA against Egypt, you'd know they're capable of attacking any defense, cos they even had more chances than Egypt throughout the game.
I believe we once again contain that Algerian attack, cos as usual, our players know we are up against a quality team, and I know they wouldn't disappoint.

Nigerians are insatiable, even a win against Algeria, we'd still say the boys got lucky to win. Let's support and wish them well.

Nice observation, but this kinda team to tamed them you need to employ wingers with speed, musa is good with pace but in end it all amount to wasted energy with no clear cut pass to who ever that is making the run for [we can still use him though] chukwueze control the other side well i just hope he still deliver on that day...

We'd get into trouble if we play at their pace. We need to slow down the game and play our trumpeting, Kanu-styled, Palm wine football. The Algerians are fast players and dancing to their tune would make us tire out quickly.

Sure i concur but if musa with his pace and chukwueze controlling the other end with that they wnt be all out to attack their mind should be set out against any counterattack besides we might not really control the midfield because i see it as a 50-50/40-60battle in midfield thatz if ndidi and etebo came to town, iwobi has been quite good and i pray C awaziem cud be brilliant in this encounter nigga has been shaky sometimes and i dnt knw if he will choose aina in this encounter probably pair him with omeruo in back four...
