A 22-year-old housewife, identified as Mrs Azeez, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her husband to death over domestic allowance.
The mother of nine-month-old baby was said to have stabbed her husband three times in the chest during a misunderstanding, on Thursday, at Kosodo area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
The Nigerian Tribune gathered that the woman had demanded for domestic allowances from her husband, who was on his way out.
A source said that the deceased had given her N300 instead of N350, which led to argument between them.
The woman, a fish seller, was said to have picked a sharp knife used to cut fish and stabbed her husband three times in the chest.
According to the source, the man died before any medical assistance could be given to him.
She was arrested and taken to Idi Aro Police Station, where she was informed about the demise of her husband. On hearing the news, she was said to have shouted and collapsed.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Oyo State Police Command, DSP Olabisi Okuwobi, who confirmed the incident in Ibadan, on Sunday, said the woman had been taken to the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation.
