Some people accused former Lagos state governor Mr Akinwumi Ambode of not doing enough in the area of traffic laws, however, a new governor of the most populated Nigerian city Babajide Sanwo-Olu has put in place 64 traffic offences that attract various fines.

Out of the 64 offences, 19 can make violators land in jail if they are unable to pay a specified fine.

Sanwo-Olu who wants full implementation of the new law directed officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority(LASTMA) not to spare anyone who runs fouls of the law.

LASTMA will be working alongside its sister agency Lagos State Driver’s Institute (LASDRI).

While thousands of Lagos residents have kicked against some of the new traffic laws which are now tagged “Sanwo-Olu Lagos traffic law” majority of Lagosians don’t really know what the new traffic offences are about, below are the offences and how offenders could land in jail.
